Yes I finally bought some new comics. It started out as an impulse buy as there were a couple of multi-comic packs for cheap at meijer then I went to the comic book store and bought some more (mostly to fill in a gap that one of the multi-packs started and to get the rest of the depressing GLA). Here's what I got:
In the multi-packs one came with a pack of X-Men cards also for 4.95: New X-Men #123 Marvel Comics Presents #20, 22, and #55 Batman: Gotham Nights #2 Alpha Flight #34 Silver Surfer #69 and the mysterious middle comic in one Superman: Man of Steel mini #1
The comic shop: Ultimate X-Men Annual #1 Ultimate X-Men #54-57 (Most Dangerous Game only 5.25. 3 for 54-56 and 2.25 for #57) GLA #2-4 (gap filler) New X-Men #122,124-125 (no 126! still leaves an incomplete story arc!) X-Men #161-165 (I like to torture myself with Austen and CC)
So far I've only read Ultimate X-Men Annual #1 and Ult. XM #54-57. Both decent reads but they're lightning quick reads
Though Pretty good for about 35 bucks Most of the comic book store comics were back issues so about a dollar twelve an issue (half off). Probably well worth it.

Finished reading a majority of the comics, and I have to say the best ones were a toss up between the New X-Men issues and the GLA issues. I thought the rest of GLA would be depressing but it turned out to be quite a fun read the last panel in issue #4 made me laugh my buttocks off, and how Mr. Immortal defeated Graviton was okay also.
New X-Men was a good read despite the horrible Igor Kordey art on two of the issues and the ad in the middle of a double page spread in another.

I didn't think Kordey was that bad at the time, but looking back on it he was atrocious. The chasm of quality between Quitely and Kordey is just so vast that he can't possibly adequately fill in. Too be fair, it didn't look too bad in the hardcover at the larger size, but compare it to the 2 issues Quitely did, and all of the beautiful sleekness in the art is just gone.
#126 was definitely the best part of Imperial (Frank Quitely art!), so grab that if you can SPS. Cyclops steals the show, but everyone gets their moment in the sun.

I looked my hardest for #126 and they didn't have it! I'll just make the hour long trek to the next nearby comic shop and pick it up. I may not have been too impressed with Morrison at first but I may just go and fill in the holes I have in his run and they are big ones. Considering before today I had only a Marvel Must Haves of the first 3 issues part 1 of the U-Men arc, the 9/11 tribute issue and the big reveal of Magneto is Xorn. That leaves some mighty big chunks to fill in.

#126 was my fave comic that year, just edging out Gen13 #77.
It's really fantastic.
