I think you'd have a better case if you hadn't made an entirely unfounded assumption about his OWN lifestyle, DVD. To condemn his unthinking prejudice by substituting one of your own seems odd to me. You might be right - or your letter writer might be from several other religions, or he might be an entirely UNreligious bigot. They do exist, you know  Just a few thoughts |

Hey, Christians can be top-notch peoples, but y'know, I think yer right DVD.
However, unless the letter were edited, this particular stripe normally take the time to inform you of their theological leanings.
His notions of 'honesty' in polling are somewhat subjective, too. La-di-da. God, did you never read a milligan X-Force lettercol?
This ain't new news.

Thanks for calling me out on this. I reacted emotionally, not with my head, for the most part. I assumed that he was a christian, though to do so would give honest christians a bad name. He's just a bigot and a fool, in my opinion. I'm going to change the entry, and add a note to it about your pointing out how I became that which I hate most. (I'm not being sarcastic--at all--I'd rather have someone point out that I'm being a dumbass. Better that it be someone whose opinion I trust.) |
