Well, I got Cable and Deadpool, Max Punisher, and Colossus Bloodlines.
Let's start with the worst-
Bloodlines. Its not a lame story, its just uninteresting, and worst of all, the art. The art immediately makes this book unbuyable, it is quite honestly, wretched, and I can't stand it. NOrmally I don't rate a book by the art, but it is that bad.
Next-
MAX Punisher-
My favorite that I picked up, absolutely awesome story, I love it, and I can't wait for the next issue.
Cable and Deadpool-
Mixed, thankfully Cable did NOT merge with Nate Grey, the cover and rumors are wrong. The story was alright, but some parts kind of bothered me. Some parts were also fairly sad, and you see how Wade and Cable have lived, on their 17th birthdays.
I was interested today, I got one bad comic, one great comic, and one alright comic.
Go me!

Comics don't arrive for me until tomorrow, due to the Labor Day holiday.
Still... I'm planning on getting Amazing Fantasy, Cable/Deadpool, and Punisher for sure. I think Guardian and Serenity come out this week as well, so I'll be grabbing those...
No chance that I'll be getting Bloodlines now, but then I found it highly unlikely that I would anyway. Ah well.

Now that I think about it, I did get one thing today. My copy of the Top Ten: The Forty-Niners. Hopefully, this should wash away the awful taste of the "Beyond The Farthest Precinct" series. Nobody should write Top Ten but Alan Moore.

Hey, the storyline isn't horrible, its really dealing with what Astonishing is not. Basically, what Peter's been through and how it affects him.
But the art is really that bad, it is REALLY that bad...

Not saying it's bad, just that I have no interest in it. It would take a pretty good story to interest me in a Colossus mini. I don't think Peter can hold a series on his own.
But if the art's that bad and the story is lackluster, not worth my time.

My comics finally arrived, and here's what I got: Amazing Fantasy #12: A satisfying conclusion to what's been a surprisingly good storyline. There are a couple of small hanging loose ends, but otherwise it resolves itself well. Carmilla Black is easily my favorite new character from Marvel this year. I hope she turns up again somewhere after the HoM Hulk appearance. Ghost Rider #1: I've had my reservations about this, given the utter mess that's been Ghost Rider continuity in the last several years. I will admit up front that I prefer the Dan Ketch version of Ghost Rider, and don't care for the way he's been dismissed. The big problem for me here is that John Blaze is both suddenly GR again and suddenly dead, with no explanation given for either. If you can look past that, it's a perfectly enjoyable introductory issue with outstanding art from Clayton Crain. I rather like a lot of the concepts Ennis has introduced here. I just would rather have all that in a GR series that honored what came before. Hulk #86: This arc can be best described as readable. The worst part about it is that Scorpion is far more interesting on her own than she is here, and so suffers by comparison. PAD usually doesn't do so well with crossover events, but this really isn't his best work even so. It's okay, but entirely missable. Serenity #3: A pretty solid mini-series, which it seems was written to transition between Firefly and the upcoming Serenity film. It does well enough in that respect. I'm not a huge Firefly fan, but I'm at least interested in Serenity if it's anything like this. Cable/Deadpool #19: A solid character issue, all in all, featuring some painful moments in the lives of Cable and Deadpool. At least all the confusing stuff is behind us now. Still, I'm looking forward to the BAD Girls next arc. Guardian #4: This marks the end of one of the better Seven Soldiers books. It seems like we won't see everything with the characters resolved until the final issue, as Guardian leaves some things hanging. Still, I did like the revelations about Ed, who ties into the big picture in a major way. I expect a pretty huge conclusion once it's all over. Villains United #5: I love this series. Gail keeps throwing curves and building conflicts to a boil. These characters gradually become more interesting as the series goes on. Too bad there's only one issue left, because this so far has been one of the best minis out this year. Punisher #25: Another great issue from the best book Marvel's currently publishing. While I don't expect this to top the Nicky Cavella arc, this is still a good beginning to an Ennis Punisher story. Overall, a pretty good week for me, with a few books in the passable range. Not too bad.

Astonishing X-Men #12 B.P.R.D. The Black Flame #1 Death Jr. #3 Ex Machina #14 Fell #1 Gotham Central #35 Intimates #11 Losers #27 Manhattan Guardian #4 Powers #12 Punisher #23. #25 Rex Mundi #14 Shining Knight #4 Supreme Power #18 Swamp Thing #19 Usagi Yojimbo #86 Vampirella: Revelations #0 Y The Las Man #37Good stack this week. I missed issue #23 of Punisher, but now I can read 3 issue of it in a row. Sweet! Will read Shining Knight 1-4 and Manhattan Guardian 1-4 now that they're all out. Do you guys think I'm missing out by waiting to read each series after they're completed as opposed to reading each issue of each series as soon as they come out? Ex Machina, Powers, Supreme Power, Usagi Yojimbo, and Y are always good. Always a pleasure to read those. Rex Mundi finally came out again. I'm still behind though -SHARK DIGGLER

Surprised no one else picked up Vampirella: Revelations #0. It's only $0.25 and it's written by Mike Carey. Seems like a no-brainer. -SHARK DIGGLER

Do you guys think I'm missing out by waiting to read each series after they're completed as opposed to reading each issue of each series as soon as they come out? With Guardian, I think you are. That book's been great the whole way through. Not so much with Shining Knight, which started off well but fizzled towards the end for me. Then again, each of the Seven Soldiers minis may read differently when read in a single sitting. It might work better for you that way, for all I know. Morrison wrote it so that it should (hopefully) be read in a number of different ways. I'm pretty much following the whole thing issue by issue. The series is so interconnected that I follow Seven Soldiers as a whole tapestry rather than as segmented minis. But that's the kind of thing I enjoy anyway.

Hmm. Don't remember seeing Vampi at the store this week, but then I'm not a real fan of the character. Wasn't aware that Carey was involved with it, either. Maybe I'll look at it if I see it on my next trip.

Are you serious? You should have read them in the order that they come out. It reads better that way.
Start...Now.

Shark, are you mad? How could you resist reading them?
Probably read hell good all in one hit anyway, but then you miss stuff like Zatanna wandering into Shining Knight's plot, as it's happening, so there could be drawbacks like that as well.
