So, I just thought a general poll for everyone about the next year's forthcoming books might be an idea to up traffic in this forum, seeing there's been nothing on it for two days.
ANYTHING at all you're wetting yourself about due in 2006AD?
For me, as mentioned in the thread below (at time of writing) the #1 draw is definitely WildCATS relaunch with the All-Star duo of Morrison and Lee. This should sll gangbusters for a start and put the WSU right back on the map; I've only been playing the fringes (Sleeper) with any great enthusiasm for some time now, since Millar was dropping bombs, uh.. 'monthly' (not his fault) back on his run on the Authority, and Brubaker's recent run on the title has - I think - left it basically with a hiatus for about four years, given the narrative ends in around '09. It was also a bit misconceived and didn't really strike the chord I'd hoped it would, so... Yeah, anyway, I think this'll be the one to get that Universe back on top form (in fairness to WS, their Signature series has basically superceded Vertigo for creator-owned stuff in the last year, so kudos there.) Hopefully we'll see some of the Moore run referenced and influential; given his predominance in Grant's mind as predecessor, I think it's pretty likely.
Also, on reflection, I think 52 can potentially be the event comic of EVERY WEEK for the next year; initially, again, i thought 'ah, I'll just buy the Morrison issues' but given Johns recent strong showing on 8C and good reviews of Waid and Giffen I think I can get into having this weekly. Should be a ride at any rate.
As for poor old Marvel, well, I am really, really excited at the prospect of seeing my favourite misunderstood mutants, X-Statix make a return, albeit a largely dead one. With Dr. Strange in tow! So excited am I, that I may even endure Larroca's lumpen, plasticky stylings for the return of Doop(!) in an arc also featuring Apocalypse. I mean, come on, that could definitely be good.
How about you??
