Besides the obvious reaction (like, Thank God it's not Frank Miller) these were the kind of news we were expecting.. I've liked three of the four completely different Batman Morrison has written, so I have a very good chance I'll like this fifth.

I've liked what Morrison's done in the past year. All-Star Supes is probably my favorite book out right now. Still, I'm not sure I'll get this. Whether I pick it up or not depends on what kind of Batman we get. It's a good time to be a Morrison fan, though, must admit.  |

The pre-InfCrisis Batman was extremely dark, the Miller Batman is just so badly written, so I welcome this change of pace, especially from what I heard from Morrison.

I'm in favor of a lighter Batman. Have been for a while. The Batman of recent years just annoys me a lot. He's become so grim and obsessed that he's lost his humanity. Lightening him up would help fix that.
That Morrison is looking towards the 70's version is promising. The 70's Batman was lighter without losing the edge that made him Batman. The character needs to be more balanced, really.

This will be good - I have no doubt. I generally disliked Morrisons Bat-god but a throwback to O'Niel/Adams Batman will be great. and if anyone can do it, it's Morrison. With rumors of a Kubert brother, probably Adam, on art the Batman titles are going to be in good hands. What a great time to be a DC fan |
