Duncan's about half right on my view of Cap. I never object to changes that make sense, but Bru was writing Cap as USAgent right from the get-go and with no reasoning at all that would make Steve Rogers suddenly this far harder, far more ruthless person. If he was writing John Walker (USAgent) rather than Steve Rogers (Captain America), I'd be reading it. But poor characterisation is something I hate. There's just no excuse for it from a good writer. Edit: This is an old debate, now, and I have no interest really in rehashing it. Ayone who loves Bru's Cap - I hope you continue to do so. It ain't my thing

Mr. Miracle #4.
It was a good read, but unfortunately the art went from great to poor in this issue. The larger connection to the saga remains a mystery, with the only connection being the Oracle. As some of you may know, the Oracle was the ethereal being who alerted the JSA and JLA about the threat of Nebula Man way back in JLofA #100.

The art was a mess. There's about one good panel, and Oracle looks terrible.

SEVEN SOLDIERS: MISTER MIRACLE #4 SEVEN SOLDIERS: FRANKENSTEIN #3 TOMORROW STORIES SPECIAL #2
That's it for me this week. Wasn't quite sure I really understood what happened in Mister Miracle, frankly. The ending completely threw me off. Probably needs a re-read, but MM was still my least favorite Seven Soldiers series of the lot.
Frankenstein was good, and I like that they explained why he's named Frankenstein. Everybody seems to forget that Frankenstein was the doctor, not the monster.
The Tommorrow Stories Special... I don't know if any of you guys were a fan of Moore's run on Supreme, but if you were, you're in for a treat. The first story is essentially written in the same style as those flashback scenes from Supreme, complete with the sweet retro Rick Veitch art. It's the highlight of the issue. The rest of the stories are good, a Lil' Margie or whatever her name was story from promethea, a wonderfully cheesecakey Jonni Future story, and a metaphorical slam on the Iraq war that goes awry in the First American.
Anyway, good week.
I like Cap too, but Dead Girl...That book is on a different level of ass-kickiness. Best...Doctor Strange...Ever.

Yeah, two of 'em, anyway.
The retro story, (which is the longest part), is written by Alan Moore, along with the First American story.
Steve Moore writes the Jonni Future and Lil' Margie stories.

Slow week for me, I picked up TT #33 and JSA #83. Both were kinda uneventful and less than stellar.
