Dabel bros comics (www.dabelbrothers.com) are adapting 2 of my fav book series into comics, and i just had to swing by and let u all know.
Laura K Hamiltons Anita Black series will be starting with "guilty Pleasures" the first book in the series. For those who are asking, no she is nothign like Buffy. In Anitas world, all myth creatures are legal citizen. Anita ia primarily an animator; she raises Zombies. She can do this for several reasons, like bring back a witness to testify in court, or to let someone talk to a long dead abusive spouse or whatever to sort out issues. her other job is a vampire executioner; when they break the law, she gets givena court order to hunt and kill them. Its a great series, and I really hope they do more than just the Guilty Pleasures book, since a lot of the later ones are better.
The second is Raymond E Feists "Riftwar" series, which is starting with Magician: Apprentice. The riftwar is a massive series set ont he world of Midkemia, and focuses around Pug, an orphan kitchen boy who is apprenticed to a agician just before the start of an invasion from an army that travels to midekmia through a portal (Or rift) fromt he world of Kelewan. magian is considered the best of the series, though i personally prefered much of the Serpentwar and later the League of Shadows series. Still, its a good place to jump on if u havent read them yet.
Anyone other than me psyched about this?

I will give the Anita Black series a chance. I bought the first book off a suggestion of a local book store owner ... I read about 20 pages and had to stop. I just could not get into the writing style/form/mood - whatever it was. I do like the idea, so I will give it another go in comic form. What the hell, might as well, whats ANOTHER title added to my list
