Since The new Buffy series is going to start in a little over a month and a half I thought it would be fun to do some speculation and whatnot. I'm really excited about this series. Joss Whedon on Buffy with Georges Jeantry on art. Pretty good combo if you ask me. Now here are the solicits for the first two issues:
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #1 JOSS WHEDON (W), GEORGES JEANTY (A), and JO CHEN (Cover) On sale March 7 FC, 32 pages $2.99 Miniseries Since the destruction of the Hellmouth, the Slayers—newly legion—have gotten organized and are kicking some serious undead butt. But not everything's fun and firearms, as an old enemy reappears and Dawn experiences some serious growing pains . . .
Buffy creator Joss Whedon brings Buffy back to Dark Horse in this direct follow-up to season seven of the smash-hit TV series. • Joss Whedon writes Season 8! Only available at Dark Horse!
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #2
JOSS WHEDON (W), GEORGES JEANTY (A), ANDY OWENS (I), DAVE STEWART (C), and JO CHEN (Cover)
On sale Apr. 4 FC, 32 pages $2.99 Ongoing
The destruction of Buffy's hometown, plus covert and powerful slayer "cells" around the world, add up to a new label for the Scoobies: Terrorist threat. Speaking of Sunnydale, the crater formerly known as, has opened to reveal the witch Amy, and boy is she pissed. Now: Giles, smoochies, a knife to the heart, and a big sleep. Season Eight continues.

and now the solicit to #3 and the solicit for the Buffy Omnibus from the latest Dark Horse solicits:
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #3 JOSS WHEDON (W), GEORGES JEANTY (P), ANDY OWENS (I), DAVE STEWART (C), and JO CHEN (Cover) On sale May 2 FC, 32 pages $2.99 Ongoing
With Buffy incapacitated, Amy the witch has taken the opportunity to-get this-lay siege with an army of the undead. Willow takes her on in a witches' battle royal as hundreds of Slayers defend their Scottish citadel, but without the kiss of true love, Buffy will be out of commission indefinitely-with an unwelcome familiar face, and an image you won't soon forget.
Buffy creator Joss Whedon brings Buffy back to Dark Horse in this direct follow-up to Season Seven of the smash-hit TV series.
Joss Whedon writes Season 8! Only available at Dark Horse!
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER OMNIBUS VOLUME 1 JOSS WHEDON (W), FABIAN NICIEZA (W), CHRISTOPHER GOLDEN (W), DAN BRERETON (W), SCOTT LOBDELL (W), PAUL LEE (W/A), ERIC POWELL (A), JOE BENNETT (A), CLIFF RICHARDS (A), HECTOR GOMEZ (A), and WILL CONRAD (A) On sale July 18 FC, 320 pages $24.95 TPB, 6" x 9"
The definitive comics collection of all things Buffy starts here. This first massive volume begins at the beginning-The Origin, a faithful adaptation of creator Joss Whedon's original screenplay for the film that started it all. The newly chosen Slayer's road to Sunnydale continues in Viva Las Buffy and Slayer, Interrupted. Next, Sunnydale, the Scoobies, and an English librarian lead the way into Season One continuity. Plus, The Goon creator Eric Powell provides pencils to “All's Fair,” featuring Spike and Drusilla at the 1933 World's Fair.
The smash TV hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer led to nearly a decade of comics at Dark Horse-including multiple specials, one-shots, and guest miniseries. This omnibus series is the ultimate compilation of the Buffy comics Dark Horse has published, and runs along the TV series' timeline. A fitting companion to Whedon's comics-based relaunch of the show.

With Whedon off the WW movie, do you think we will see a tv revival?

Rodney...
I doubt it, sadly. The WB pulled the plug, but many of the leads including SMG herself had had enough. They'd been doing Buffy for seven years, after all, and wanted to move on to new things.
There's been talk of tele-movies for some of the characters from time to time, but none have really come to anything.
I think the only really viable character to catch up with soon will be Faith, as James Marsters has pointed out that a Spike tele-movie will need him to look unchanged, as Spike is an immortal. And other than Spike and Faith who really could support one? The other characters are designed to be supporting cast only, and they are.
I honestly think the only chance of extending the franchise at all depends on Eliza Dushku right now, and I know she wasn't keen just after Buffy ended. I have no idea how she feels now...

solicit for #4:
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #4 JOSS WHEDON (W), GEORGES JEANTY (P), ANDY OWENS (I), DAVE STEWART (C), and JO CHEN (Cover) On sale Jun 6 FC, 32 pages $2.99 Ongoing
Buffy’s back in action, thanks to a kiss of true love, but Willow’s another story entirely—their capture of Amy the witch opened up a magical trap door, and now the Wiccan is in the belly of the beast. To make matters worse, she’s at the mercy of someone truly bent on revenge, and he’s been waiting for this for a long time. The conclusion to Season Eight’s first arc.

Could the he in question be Warren? Wait stupid question of course it's Warren!

Great start to the series! Looks like Joss is firing on all cylinders, and has given Buffy the kind of shake up that took Angel to unprecedented heights. Having a Slayer army creates problems and consequences as well as giving advantages - which is as it should be. And giant Dawn is hilarious

Poor Dawn. I guess bad taste in men runs in the family. ;D So far, I'm enjoying Season 8. It's a good establishing issue for the Scoobs, as I see it. I like that the characters have grown some since we last saw them. (In Dawn's case, literally. ;D ) I'm also curious about Amy's return, and I'm guessing there's going to be a serious rematch between Amy and Willow. Should be fun to watch. I'm liking it.

Neither, Mea. Joss has continued the ongoing story with 'Season 8' - which is a series of comics published by Dark Horse. The first two are already out, but you should hopefully be able to find them still, though I gather they are selling like bottled water in a drought...
