Batman and the Outsiders #1Art Thibert; Cover by Turnbull Variant Cover by Ryan Sook Tony Bedard (BIRDS OF PREY, COUNTDOWN) and Koi Turnbull (Fathom) launch a bold new direction for the DCU's misfit heroes! The rules have changed all over the DC Universe — but for the Outsiders, they're still just things that were made to be broken! It's a fresh game of dirty pool for the Outsiders as the Dark Knight sends his new team to the frontlines of a massive assault on metahumans. Batman and the Outsiders must fight even dirtier than their enemies...and risk becoming the supervillains they despise!

I've no idea if I'll pick this up or not, honestly. I like Tony Bedard, and he's long deserved a higher-profile book. The art isn't too bad either. But the only characters who really grab my interest here are Catwoman and the Martian Manhunter... and J'onn really should be with the JLA. I prefer Nightwing as a leader, and am not fond of his being written out, but I can see why the change there was made. I'm pretty sure Batman was brought back to boost sales. Even so, it kind of lowers the appeal to me... Batman only interests me in Morrison's book these days. Overall, I trust Bedard, and it might be he could make anything of this squad... but I find myself too disinterested in the cast right now. Still... never know.
