So it's that time again. What did everyone get? Today's haul, though not finished yet... Black Adam #1: So far so good, and I love the development at the end. Although it seems DC is making Adam creepier and nastier by the minute. Shame, because Adam could easily be the Magneto of the DCU... a morally ambiguous villain with the power and the ideology to threaten the entire world. Nova: Even though the constant crossovers in this title are annoying me, I still like this book enough to keep with it. I like the Kree Nova, though, and I hope she sticks around after Conquest... Green Lantern #22 Star Wars: Legacy #15 Boys #9 X-Factor #22 Batman #667 Not bad so far, barring the unending crossover-fest both companies are in these days.

I'll post today's too, while I'm at it... cause why not. Booster Gold #1: Eh. Some vaguely interesting stuff here, but it lacks the heart of Booster's story in 52 to me. Also, I find the exposition rather clunky when it's not needed so much. I like Booster's purpose in the DCU, though, and the notion of a great hero whose secret identity is being a moron. I just wish there was actually a story behind it. There's potential in the concept, but the execution isn't doing much for me. JLA #12: A decent last issue. Overall, though, I keep expecting better from Meltzer's JLA than what we actually got. The first arc was nice, but I don't feel this book got any real momentum since then. This issue hits the mark better than the last few, but I can't put this issue down without feeling like there should be more... Flash #231: Good start, though I don't know if this issue works as the accessible setup that was promised. Still, I like that Flash is kind of DC's family book now, as that plays very well to Waid's strengths as a writer. Definite promise here. Brave & The Bold #6: Good, solid finish to a massive, intricately plotted storyline. I correctly guessed the mystery guest-stars who save the day some issues back, but still good to see these characters again. Waid is making a very good case that he should be writing some of these characters regularly. One of the better books at DC right now, I think.

Steve - there was a 'Flash Zero' that sets up the story. Don't think they called it zero, but the idea is there. It's accessible enough if you've read that, IMO.

Black Adam - awesome start. I'm really liking this, it's just so different from anything else out there. The Boys - mixed issue. Bit crude at points, but definitely entertaining. And the building mystery is really good. Green Lantern - Sinestro War. Solid. New X-Men - end of Quest For Magik, and my honest thought is, "Was there any point in any of that?" She's not really back, she won't be in NXM any more and the plot looks like staying unresolved for the foreseeable future. A step in the right direction, but I was really hoping for far more. Batman - Yeah, Grant, I saw that film, too. Does make for a good Batman plot though JLA - not sure what to make of that. Kinda quiet... The Flash - I love Waid's take on Flash! Nuff said
