Cool topic. OS: Windows XP Browser: Multiple, depending on my needs. Mostly, I use Avant, which an IE variant. At other times, I'll use Netscape. I just like having redundancies. E-mail: Also dependent on my needs. AOL and Yahoo are my main ones. I like having multiple services so as to divert spam.

Windows XP
IE
Outlook and yahoo. I have 2 email accounts. One with my parents' internet service and one I set up on yahoo to go with my web site. I use the outlook email for family, business and wedding plans and some friends. Yahoo is for my column contacts and online buddies.

I use Windows XP too. I'm startled at how many others use that as well.
I'm using AOL browser and Firefox browser, but I've decided I'll be making the change from AOL to Netscape very soon. I have no use for AOL anymore.
I guess I'll be using Yahoo as my e-mail account soon (?), but right now I use AOL obviously.

Window 2K
Opera, and occasionally IE
Yahoo, Gmail, Turnpike, and Outlook.
I would recommend that people give Opera a go, as it is a very good browser IMO.

Curious. Which version of XP do you guys use, professional or home? DragonLord, what is your opinion of gmail? Philster, have you been unhappy with Firefox? Is that why you would change to Netscape or is there another reason? Shan

Firefox works very slowly for me. The only times I use it is if I want to go into IRC chatrooms that I can't get into using AOL. Otherwise I use AOL's browser.
It's mainly AOL I am dissatisfied with though, since I rarely use Firefox anyway. I know Netscape will give me x5 surfing speed, so...

I've never used Opera, but someone told me just recently that they had improved it quite a bit since the last time they looked at using it. Do you have to purchase Opera? Also are there any great differences between it and other browsers? Peter, what are you thoughts on Gmail? Are you satisfied with it and do you think it is any better than Yahoo? Philster, do you have any idea what cause Firefox to run slow for you? I haven't noticed any difference between it and Mozilla myself (speed wise). Shan

Shan - I like Gmail, as it is easy to use, and it is also easy to keep track of which e-mail goes where in a conversation. I definatly think it is a step up from yahoo, but that's just my opinion.
As for opera, they have made a lot of improvements, and you can download a free version that has a banner ad sitting in the top right hand corner of the window all the time (in one of the tool bars so it doesn't get in the way). If you purchase it, then the ad goes away, that is the only difference between the 2 versions.

Philster, do you have any idea what cause Firefox to run slow for you? I haven't noticed any difference between it and Mozilla myself (speed wise). Shan It's probably because I have too much memory taken up on my computer or something, plus it's not my default browser either. I currently have 1.30 GB used up in my manga folder alone. Bleh. I've tried saving them to discs, but they don't stay put on the discs. I've never understood it.

Phil, are you saying that your manga files disappear from the discs? DragonLord, do you think the features and all are better with Opera than the others? What made you choose Opera over the others? I like my Gmail account too. Yahoo was the only other web mail that I had ever used and since I got the Gmail account I prefer it. I just like the setup better. Shan

Yes. It's quite frustrating. Are you burning them onto CD or just using floppies? Either way, it's rather odd.
