It will give me my first silver talent point I think... Not having to bother saving Abigail is a major relief, but that still does nothing towards that stupid immolation effect. Standing still without being able to do something for five seconds means half my HP is gone. BTW, Spectre oil ought to do extra damage to him, right? I can easily make some of that and coat my sword with it before the battle. Übereil

This may be the best game I have ever played.

Yeah, I managed to get past that part using spectre oil and only focusing on the big bad... wolf... thingie...
I'm now in act 2. And I'm flooded with quests! I'll do it all when I figure it's time to play again... When I play I play for like five-ten hours one day, with huge spaces in between the sessions.

This may be the best game I have ever played. I'd put it up there with some of my favorites, for sure. For me, it's definitely up there with PST, BG2, Vampire: BL, and Oblivion.

Playing around with the new mini-scenarios. Stuck on the Wraiths one, so I've star6ed looking at Deceits. Looks OK, but I'm not really sold, yet. I may look at the intros to the rest just to see if one really captures me...

Finished Deceits. Quite solid, if one of the fights is a bit too long. not hard, mind, just long. Finished the wedding one, as well. predictable, but quite amusing. Of the two, Deceits is the only one with some replay value, IMO, in that I missed a couple things I may get back to another time.
Before I return to trying to figure out where I'm going wrong with Wraiths, I think I'll try the others...

So far I've played the two official ones - The Price of Neutrality and Side Effects - both were solid. The former was better IMO because of the main "choice" built in to the story and because you could roam around and explore the Kaer Moren woods. With the latter you're stuck in Vizima.
I also played Blight of the Bogs - a decent way to spend 45 minutes in the swamps. Pretty good adventure.
Graveyard Party was a pretty short action-fest that was just ok...it was cool that you could play as different characters like Triss or Siegfried.
I'm currently on Deception (Deceits? - must have been renamed with the new patch). This is pretty impressive for a fan-made adventure. It's another get Dandelion out of trouble mystery story, but the location is entirely new and the makers even recorded voices for the dialog. Good stuff.

I don't think Deception is the same as Deceits, Flix. No voicing in Deceits. No Dandelion, either.

Merry Witchmas is OK, but I'm not hugely engaged. Just getting Entrapped, Poet's Pride and Deception from the website now...

Entrapped is actually rather awesome. Of all those I've tried so far, I'd recommend that one the most. Finishing gave me that rather warm glow I get from completing good games

I wonder if I haven't already pretty much duplicated the "Director's Cut" with Enhanced Edition 1.5, plus the blood patch, restored sex cards, and restored models for dryads and vampires, etc, (these I found on the official web site.
International players: Is it true that there are cinematic sex "scenes" for all the encounters (like with Triss, Shani, and Vesna)?

No, there are no cinematic sex scenes, just a kind of red background-blur thingy while the card appears.
It's pretty obvious what's going on, mind, but nothing anyone's really going to find all that fascinating.

Witcher patch 1.5 removes all the copy protection and allows you to play the game without a disk. (I am guessing this is because of serious problems with Win7 caused by the copy protection system...)
