Since we've done similar threads for Music and Computers, I found it odd there wasn't one for TV & Film. So here it is.  If you've picked up anything new, this is the thread to share it. Movies, TV boxed sets, concerts, or whatever. You can list something you've seen recently, even if you've owned it for a while. Or anything you want to pick up at some point, but maybe isn't out yet. Whatever you want. * My last pickups? Batman Begins and Episode 3. Serenity is definitely on my "to get" list, though it's not due out until Dec. 20th... |

Hero, which I got today. Rather good, though no real match for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I don't think anything is going to outdo Crouching Tiger for a while. But yes, that's a good film. Not enough of Ziyi Zhang in it, but you can't have everything. ;D |

Latest DVDs I bought were:
Pulp Fiction: Collector's edition
and Buffy Season 2
X-Mas and B-Day are going to be wild as for X-Mas I'm getting Batman Begins and Ep 3, and for my B-Day I'm going to try to convince my dad's g/f to get me Serenity on DVD and the Firefly Boxed set also (already wanting it even though I saw just the first ep).

House of Flying Daggers. I think what I like about these is the happy, cheerful, upbeat endings... ;D
Seriously, I'm starting to think anything with Ziyi Zhang in it must be pretty good. has she ever made a BAD film?

If she has, they've been smart enough not to export it. I liked House quite a lot. It's got all the things I like. Intrigue, political manipulation, action, and quality character drama. Zhang Yimou and Ziyi Zhang are a good team. I hope to see more from them. |

-Spartacus (2 discs edition, great kubrick/kirk douglas movie)
-Copland (i love the director james mangold, a movie with stallonne, de niro, harvey keitel and ray liotta, and stallonne steals the cake of the best performance...)
-Sopranos (complete 1st season at cheap price...great series)
-Caro Diario (nanni moretti beautiful movie)
