I've seen the commericals for it, but sadly they don't tell ANYTHING about it. I'm mildly curious, does anyone have information on this that might make me want to buy it? Like I don't know, what it's actually about?

I'm still kinda vague on it, but it's probably loosely based on the first Ultimates arc, I think, just without the Hank Pym wife-beating and the Hulk eating people.

It's based on the first volume. I bought it, haven't watched it yet.

Pretty entertaining. It is exactly like watching a toned down The Ultimates though. So nothing new there.

I don't read it. If someone could post their thoughts, I'd appreciate it. I'm mildly curious at picking it up, but the commericals tell NOTHING.

Watch Cap fight alien Nazis and get froze. Watch Nick Fury attempt to assemble a team due to alien return. Watch team blow first mission, and all quit/ get fired. Then aliens attack SHIELD, and they all rescue them. Banner gets Hulk under control, and joins in. Loses control after they beat the aliens. Then it's Avengers vs. Hulk.

It's not bad, Craig. NP pretty much described it accurately.
I wasn't planning on seeing it initially, since I'm not a huge fan of the Ultimates. But I managed to get hold of a friend's copy, so I gave it a look. I figure it's worth seeing at least once.
I found myself able to enjoy it. Ultimate Avengers got rid of some of the things I couldn't stand about the comic version. The Ultimates comic portrays the characters as self-serving scumbags generally, and I couldn't get into it. That's not true with the film. The characters are more likable in it, and Cap acts much more like the Captain America from the regular MU. There's still some of the Millar version in it (Hank is still a jerk, etc), but the film doesn't go quite so over the top with it that the UA look unheroic. Still, it's pretty true to Millar's overall plot AFAIK, and the action comes off pretty well.
It's okay, really. Nothing I'd flock to buy, but still a decent viewing.
