I haven't seen anything with Robert Downey Jr. in it (odd isn't it) but have heard of his exploits. I think he can pull it off. Can't see him with a mustache though he just has a distinctive look that would make him look too goofy IMO

Val Kilmer might be a better Tony Stark. he looks good in a moustache (can't recall which movie he wears one). if Downey Jr does his best, i think he can pull it off. unless he, like most actors in superhero movies, thinks comic-based movies should be done comically, hence lack of serious acting.
