I'm downloading a few episodes of the ninth doctor, mainly because my Doctorate in Useless Knowledge is incomplete without watching a few Dr. Who episodes and because I really enjoyed Christopher Eccleson's role in Heroes.
But I do not need more TV to watch in the PC. Damn.

You need to watch Genesis of the Daleks at the very least, Hec! Not knowing what a Dalek is at least as bad as not knowing that the Borg from Star Trek are based on the Cybermen ;D

I know who are the Daleks. Heck, I even know Byrne was unconsciously inspired by The Day of the Daleks when he plotted Days of Future Past.
I just never seen an *actual* Dr. Who episode before. I've even watched Star Trek episodes, and I hate Star Trek.

Well, hopefully you won't hate Dr Who. It's totally different to any of the US SF programs. Unless you count the really dodgy special effects in most of the early series ;D

Not a big fan of the current Dr Who, but enjoyed the spin-off.

Well, hopefully you won't hate Dr Who. It's totally different to any of the US SF programs. Unless you count the really dodgy special effects in most of the early series ;D Or the newer ones.. Overall, it was ok. I lost interest by third episode if David Tennant's series. I enjoyed watching them, yeah, but it's not something I think I'll ever actively seek to watch again.

Rodney - I haven't actually checked out Torchwood yet. It sounds a bit like a Brit version of Men In Black from the little I know of it. Would you say that was accurate? Hec - find the Chris Ecclestone ep Dalek if you can. It's great

I...can't seem to get past the Daleks. I know they are supposed to be these evil, terrifying, killing machines. Only they look like walking trash cans.
But yeah, I watched that one. I tought the two part season finale with the whole Dalek armada was better.

They definitely do look like gliding trash cans. Whole generations of Brit kids hid behind the sofa at sight of them, though, believe it or not. And no, I didn't ;D
I've always adored them, personally. They're such a unique creation. Still, to each their own, I guess...
