So, yeah -- has anyone seen The Grindhouse yet?
If so, what did you think of it?
Which movie did you prefer? Tarantino's or Rodriquez's? Or did you love them both equally?

I finally ended up seeing this. I'll usually at least look at what Rodriguez and Tarantino are doing. I don't know how to describe Grindhouse other than that it's utterly bizarre. It's more than just a double-feature flick. Grindhouse is a wholesale homage of a 70's B-movie double feature, including fake movie previews (some of which are so ludicrous they're funny), "missing reels" and such. The whole thing ranges from the gruesome to the weird to the hilarious. "Planet Terror"... I've seen better from Rodriguez, honestly. It's not horrible, but it strikes me as "Robert Rodriguez Does 28 Days Later". Death Proof seemed somewhat better to me, though it suffers from slow pacing early on. All in all, I don't know that I'd see it again, but it's an interesting experiment. Very weird film, though...

I sure hope THIS won't happen. Already talks of the studios thinking of splitting up The Grindhouse.

I saw it this past Thursday at a matinee. There were about five people in the theater, including myself.
"Planet Terror" was ok. I wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking, knowing that the movie was supposed to be a spoof of the 70's exploitation flicks. While it was entertaining, there was nothing that "wowed" me about it. Standard "people against zombies" stuff.
I thought "Death Proof" was definitely the better of the two. It was slow in parts, but overall was the more interesting picture.
Neither of the movies would be worth paying for to see by themselves though, so I'm not sure what the theaters would be trying to accomplish if they split them up.

I caught The Grindhouse.
Damn, was it a blast.
I thought Death Proof was great, actually..
Planet Terror was still good, though.
