Horrible puns aside it's time for another which film is better thread. Two films now which one is better. This time It's Jim Carey's turn. So I went and picked two films of his one comedy he did and one drama he's done. Here we go:
The Truman Show VS. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I will do another Jim Carey volume in the future so don't worry that Dumb and Dumber and The Mask aren't here or one of his many other movies. Those two will be featured in a future WFiB thread.
EDIT: Sorry about the original post just thought we could see which one was better in whether people thought he was a better comedic actor or dramatic one.

Man, that's hard to say, one is a comic and the other being a drama, I find both of them very good, each in their own genre. Maybe I think ESOTSM is the best of them both, I like Jim in a more dramatic role.

I'm sorry SPS, but those are terrible choices.

Then pick two more and tell why. They will be included in a future one Hec. I am ALWAYS open to suggestions as long as you include reasons why I made a poor choice in your opinion.

Because those two movies have nothing in common. The one thing they have is that they are both both movies starring Jim Carey.
So far you had picked movies very good, who had themes, genre, or something else in common. Movies that are easy to compare and made sense of it. You should have picked Ace Ventura, or any other of his comedies to go with The Mask. And The Truman Show would've been a good movie to compare with Eternal Sunshine.

Okay. Since I made a mistake. I will switch the Mask to The Truman Show. I will also put an edited tag on the title.
Also a little advance notice but next week's Which Film is Better is going to be a little late since I will be getting situated at university. But to make up for it it will be DOUBLE SIZED. Yes four to six films about a topic that is in line with me going to University: Coming of Age movies

Never saw Sunshine, but Truman Show is my utter favourite Carey film, so I'm going with that ;D

In that case, I'll go for Truman Show, I liked that movie a lot and allthough sad things happened it was still a dark kind of comedy.

I love both films. I can't stress it enough in fact Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my new favorite films of late. Despite it being a bit hard to understand on the first viewing. But since we're judging things acting wise I'm going to have to go with The Truman Show. Jim Carey IMO was the weakest thing about ESotSM as the part clearly wasn't written for him. He does his best but it just isn't quite good enough.
On the other hand Truman is just plain likeable and I think the movie would've suffered horribly if Carey didn't play him.

Jim is an excellent actor, who can play both comedies and drama's. Still, when I see him playing a drama role, i'm still expecting something funny from him ;D
