Just ran across this incredibly well written article on Afterelton.com about The Ten Best Gay and Bisexual Science Fiction CharactersIt's not entirely about film/TV but most of the characters mentioned are from one or the other, with a few from comics, too. I found it pretty fascinating, so I figured I'd share it with you lot

I've been trying to think of a lesbian version, and I can't get past 1. Willow. Which is a bit sad when I think about it...

What the... I didn't even know the Cluracan from Sandman is gay. I guess that fact showed up in the spin-offs or something?
But this makes me really want to read Hellblazer, which I've always been interested in but never got around to picking up. Pity comics are so ridiculously overpriced.

Oh I agree $3.99 US for 32 pages? The Graphic Novels are a bit cheaper but not much considering the average GN runs about $16 nowadays.

Well--there're ways of getting comics without paying, heh, but reading a long time on a screen is annoying. Of course, I did read most of the Sandman series on a computer screen.

Weird, I don't recall that, but it's been a long time ago. #27 would be in which collection?

Oh yeah, I remember now.
I also remember how I find it annoying how different the art styles in Sandman were. Characters barely resembled themselves from collection to collection. I guess I've been spoiled by manga.

Hmm...there should be a lesbian version.
Willow for starters is amazing. And then of course, there are other amazing women...which I cant seem to think of this second, but they do exist!

That's the problem I had, SeeingPink! I'm sure there ARE more lesbian characters than Willow, but... I really can't recall them...

In comics there is Mystique who is at least Bi, and from Gen 13 there is Rainmaker. Also Tara and Kennedy from Buffy also but they aren't as memorable as Willow.
