I'm not sure if people are already aware of this but it opera legend Luciano Pavarotti died yesterday at the age of 71. He is believed to have lost his battle with cancer.
Although, not an artist i have ever claimed to appriecate, he was indeed a talented perfromer and his passing is blow to the music industry.
Fairwell Luciano and good luck in your travels from here.

I read that he was critical and dying last night. He's fought this for a long time, now, and in some ways I suppose it will be a relief for him.
But yeah - guy was a legend. He'll be missed.

I never was a fan of opera but one can't deny the guy had an incredible voice that brought joy to millions of people.

There goes a big name in the music world His voice and his character have made history. "Above all, I am an opera singer. This is how people will remember me." famous quote from him. May he rest in peace.

wow, i hadn't heard. thanks for posting it konrad.
this guy's voice was unbelievable. i loved listening to him. i am very sad to find out he is gone. having fought the battle he has though, i am sure he is thankful to now be free of pain and all the suffering and able to sing to his heart's content.
he isn't gone though, just changed his audience from here on earth to all of heaven. someday we will hear him again, but for now we have cd's to remember him by. that is the good part of it.
he will be remember for the legend he was in the opera community.

Today was the burial of Luciano Pavarotti in his hometown Modena, Italy. May this beautiful opera guide this wonderful person. Ave Maria
I've been reading some of the comments people wrote about Luciano Pavarotti. One of them was after a duet with James Brown
This person is absolutely right!

It´s very sad, the old man himself was increadible.
Have anyone seen that tv-show of his where he´s singing with other famous "more mainstream" artists?
