So for those of you that dont really know me I am in the Air Force. I found out a couple days ago that I get to go hang out in Kuwait for like 5 months this summer!
Seriously...Im excited, I should probably be flying through Germany on my way over if anyone wants to have a drink! ;D

I hope you will be ok there, seems to me it wont be a vacation nor a field trip as you quoted. We will sure miss you here Nero, don't forget to come in here every chance you get, ok?

Oh dont worry so much people it really wont be too bad (thats why I joined the Air Force and not the Army). I will likely be around the boards just as much as I am now...unless its blocked over there...I will most likely be tracking and controlling the flow of Cargo in and out of the place I am going. Never forget that you will be in a combat zone Nerojb....My son pulled two tours in Iraq in the Army and had Airforce personnel with him all the time....When he was in Kuwait on the border, he got mortered....just keep you head down and watch your back....be safe....and come back whole... And yes, he could get on the net....so we can keep up with you... |

On a postive note I got my wife to let me buy a laptop today which i am typing on now! Its nothing super duper killer or anything I got it for like 900$. It has an AMD Turion X2 a gig of RAM and some nvidia geforce card in it...I have to go put games on it now so Ill be back later.
Oh and to get back on topic I really am looking forward to going this is after all what I signed up for. And despite the negativity surrounding the war there is a lot of good that US and coalition soldiers are doing over there...it just isnt as flashy as roadside bombs so noone seems to care. I hope I can do some good as well and I will of course keep you all as up to date as I can...who knows maybe I can get my wife to log onto the forum and itll kill two birds with one stone! (ok Im not that stupid Ill be calling her!)

hey everybody...sorry Ive been so absent lately...they started blocking the forums at work and that was my prime posting time plus my wife is taking advantage of me...once I get home BAM...Im working on the house  I found out that I will be leaving on the 5th of May (give or take a day or two, I dont have plane tickets yet) Ill probably be on the boards more once I get there than I will until then so Ill try and keep you all posted as much as I can. Hope everyone had a happy easter and whatnot...oh and we got a puppy about a week ago he is 6 weeks old and a rottie lab mix...Ill have to take some pictures... |
