I know no games have been played yet, but why wait? There are SEVEN games this weekend played between ranked teams! This weekend will go a long way from weeding out the weak among the strong, so let's get started!
#11 Michigan at #2 Notre Dame
Last week ND completely crushed then ranked #19 Penn State. Michigan also crushed Central Michigan. Michigan is looking like a pretty good team, but ND probably has the best QB in the country in Quinn, and they're tough at home. I wouldn't be blown away if Michigan pulls it off, but my money in on Notre Dame
#6 LSU at #3 Auburn
Both teams destroyed their opponents last week gearing up for this SEC showdown. They both look really good to me, and it might be the most evenly matched game of the day. Because of this I will lean with the home team and take Auburn, but no doubt LSU can win.
#17 Miami at #12 Louisville
Miami rebounded from their loss to FSU to go 1-1 vs Tallahassee, while Louisville also crushed hapless Temple. I don't have much faith in Big East teams however. Louisville isn't a bad team, but I think Miami is better. I'll take the Hurricanes.
#15 Oklahoma at #18 Oregon
Oklahoma won pretty comfortably aganist Washington last week, while Oregon had to hang on for a tough road win at Fresno State. I think this game for Oklahoma all comes down to how well their QB plays. (I forget his name right now) Peterson will make some plays, and as long as the OU QB doesn't make mistakes, I think they can win. All that said, I'll take Oregon at home... those ugly uniforms are tough to beat.
#24 Texas Tech at #20 TCU
I haven't really seen any of these two teams, so I have nothing to go on. So we'll say the Horn Toads get hopping at home and win.
#19 Nebraska at #4 USC
Nebraska walked all over Nicholls State while USC had the week off. I'm not as high on USC as some members of the media are, but I still think they'll beat Nebraska at home.
#7 Florida at #13 Tennessee
Florida has rolled over two very weak opponents while Tennessee had to hang on to defeat Air Force after destroying Cal. These are always great games, and it's tempting to pick Florida. But I'm an FSU fan, and after watching UT destroy Cal at home like that, I'll take the Vols!
Clemson at #9 Florida State
I wasn't going to mention this at first, but I want to talk about FSU anyway. This game was looking a lot more exciting before BC upset Clemson and FSU had to come back aganist Troy. That said, the winner of this game will probably be in the ACC championship game, so it's big. If FSU can committ to running the ball and get some yards on the ground, I think we'll win. If not, we'll have to rely on Weatherford and a strong performance from our defense. At any rate, I'll take us at home!
