Well, I’m going to start with the defense today, because it appears they are making the transition from “experience” to “old”. We are unable to get any pressure on the QB, and our run defense… well we don’t play run defense. It’s an absolute embarrassment that this team has no ability on defense to do ANYTHING! I think Joey Porter has made about four tackles since he came here. Jason Taylor keeps getting double teamed, and will continue to do so because guys like Roth and Porter aren’t forcing the issue. It’s very frustrating to watch mediocre QBs look great because they have all the time in the world. I know Zach didn’t play, but it wouldn’t of made much of a difference.
You know, in the Herald the other day, it was suggested we trade Jason Taylor. It might not be a bad idea. I hate to say that, JT is probably my favorite player, but we can get a first rounder for him, and we need it. There is a reason that over 40% of the roster was turned over this off season and probably will be again. We need draft picks, Jason is just wasting his remaining years here. We could probably trade Zach for a 3rd or 4th rounder too. I would hate to see them go, but they’re wasting the rest of their careers here.
Speaking of jokes, that’s our special teams coverage. They can’t stop anyone; we’ve let opposing teams completely dominate our coverage units. At least today Ted Ginn finally did a few good things. Hell, he even had a catch on offense today. Too bad our poor coverage is the ultimate difference today.
Offensively, some big ass kudos to the offensive line and Ronnie Brown, they deserve it. I know I’ve given him a lot of [Censored] but he’ll definitely get praise today. It’s a shame we completely wasted the best game of his professional life. If he continues to play like this though, it’ll be great to have him stay around. He didn’t do any dancing for a change today, just took the ball and RAN, it was nice to see him do that. Let’s hope for some consistency.
Trent Green played pretty well today too, yes his interception was bad, but overall the passing attack was again only stopped by us.
Penalties continue to plague us, and they’re such stupid mistakes.
I am so frustrated with this bull[Censored] this is a complete joke so far. I know it’s not Cam’s fault, and we need to be patient, but every week we have something completely ridiculous happen that shouldn’t.
