Is the place to discuss, well, planes, trains & cars, in fact! And any other modes of transport that people have developed over the ages. Comments on airlines, roads or travel generally all belong in this section, too. (Amended Jun 19th 2007. Thanks to Shan )

Actually Shan I would much rather everyone had to drive horses and buggies, but I am not so naive to think we will revert...alas that day is gone, never to return......unless we somehow survive a nuclear holocaust....

Ooooooo, a steam locomotive, that is really cool, ss. Is it more fun riding a train being pulled by one of those than the modern engines we have today? Is it ok if I ask why you would rather everyone drive horse and buggies? I'm curious. I found some really cool pictures of old horse and buggies on the net.

Not to get to philosophical Shan, but I have lived long enough to know that I miss a lot of the "old" ways...not necessarily just horse and buggies, (which is REALLY hard to do and requires a lot of work to hitch'em up and take care of the horses.. ;D) and I believe that slowing down in life would take a lot of stress off people and they would definitely live a lot longer... However, (prostitute that I am... ..) I do love my microwaves and High Def TV's and running water and indoor plumbing, which were all vacant when I was growing up... After all, I was born way before TV was invented...and I had been in the US Navy for (8) Eight years before we ever got telephones into where we lived in West Virginia and that was a "party line" for years until they got upgrades... That's why I learned to love the land and the trees and really enjoyed life... Edit.....My wife just informed me that I was OLD, but not that old.. ;D...I was not born BEFORE TV, actually was about 8 when it was invented....but my family never HAD a TV until after I left home at 17...(I just feel that old at times... ;D)

Well - in my youth we had one black and white TV set and four programs to watch (which was more than average, as we had an AFN-TV tuner built in), and my father grumbled "Either tere is nothing on TV, or there is on two channels parallel"... ...20 years later, we had 4 color TVs and cable network with 30 channels, and my father grumbled "Either there is nothing on TV or there is on three channels parallel..." Progress can be so deceiving!

I like it Glance. Even with progress, his view still didn't change.
