My all time favourites are: Naruto, Kenshin, God Child (actually everything by Kaori Yuki), Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon (yes, I admit it) and Chobits.

OH! Love Mode! I forgot Love Mode, I *really* like that series! At first the art threw me off, but then I got reading it and I really enjoyed it ^^

Golden Cain and Desire I wanna read, but I've not heard of the others, I'll check 'em out.
Also from my list, that fall under that category - Eerie Queerie, Almost Crying, Until the Full Moon (By Sanami Matoh, of Fake - also wrote Beyond the Sword and Trash, which are really good, but not shonen-ai), and to a lesser extent Yami No Matsuei and Legal Drug.

Yeah, there sure are a lot of good ones! Yeah, the art sometimes throws me off too, but if the story's good then you get used to it and maybe even like the art.

If you want a pretty serious mature one, try Level C. There's 6 volumes and it's produced by Kitty Media.

I know Tokyopop has started producing some under their Blu line, but I haven't gotten into them much yet. I do want Earthian though. It looks really good.

I tend to stick to the ones that have only 1 or just a few volumes. Really tight on cash so I don't want to get involved with the longer ones. So most of the ones I listed are only 1 or 2 volumes long. Like I only have Love Mode volume 1 and 2, though I know there's more.

Claymore -- it's one of the better shounen titles I've read. Despite being on the same vein as most, with the expected "warrior fights monsters, powers up and fights bigger monsters", it has many pleasant surprises. For one, the character development is actually decent and most of the major characters have personalities; they also don't, generally, fit into shounen stock types (though it probably helps that they're mostly female and most of those stock types tend to be male). Most importantly, the protagonist is not the most Super Special Awesome Chosen One ever: she starts off as rather weak, develops her powers, and needs to work with others to accomplish anything meaningful. There're many subplots that don't revolve around the protagonist and enough mysteries/ambiguities to keep you curious. Combat scenes tend to be economic and graceful without dragging on for chapter after chapter after chapter. The art is clean and appealing.

Shin Angyo Onshi -- I picked this up partly because I've read Shin Shun Kaden and the premise is based on the same Korean legend. SAO is, however, a lot more mature, more violent (contains rape, but only once), and more complicated. It follows a hero who's something of a typical bastard with a heart of gold (think Guts from Berserk), only his initial actions really are extreme. Like, uh, slaughtering an entire village. He turns out to be right, of course, but hey. It's got excellent character development, pretty refined art, and a well-paced plot that's never slowed down by filler. Pretty much every panel advances the plot or adds to someone's characterization. Moral ambiguity abounds, and it's got one of the creepiest villains I've ever seen in manga (mind-screw! Illusions! Being in two places at once! Being insane in a completely rational way). It's good enough that I can forgive the wince-inducing fanservice costume worn by the protagonist's bodyguard Sando.

I read the preview of Claymore in Shonen JUmp and it did look good.

I've never heard of Shin Angyo Onshi, though. Who publishes it?

I don't think it's been licensed in the US/UK yet. I've been reading scanlations and licensed translations in my own country.

It's gotten increasingly more popular lately in the manga communities. It was discussed to create a subforum for it last summer at MH, but so far we haven't really received a whole lot of local contributors for it so we held off for a bit. Because of the growing interest in it though, I have been planning to read it eventually.

I've never heard of Shin Angyo Onshi, though. Who publishes it?

It's ending this year with volume 17. It's actually a manhwa (Korean comic) being published in Japan as its primary audience (the writer and artist are both Koreans).

The anime at least will be making its way over to America, although I haven't seen it yet. The manga, however, is pretty fun as long as you don't get too attached to a few characters early on. I certainly hope it makes its way over here, too - and I think it will. The art is just amazing.

Also, it's coming out already in France and Germany and Indonesia.
