Not sure if this should be elsewhere, but I figure it's just as general as anything else....
Assuming we have big eaters here. ;D Do any of you guys and gals diet? Is it a specific diet? Just kinda getting some idea.....

I diet my dog and fishes... Does that count? Are you thinking of going on a diet or... The idea you get is about us? ;D

I can't say I ever diet as such, but I certainly cut the chocolate out if I start thinking I'm putting on a few too many pounds.
That and I try to exercise a bit more, though 'try' is often the operative word...

Stress is the perfect diet BJC ;D I keep loosing weight because of the stress I have to deal with lately. So stress is the answer to your question

Fille, actually I do diet regularly to keep shape. I'm just kinda looking for ways to switch it around and kinda curious as to what kind of diets my fellow cascaders stick themselves to. For me.....it's a very tight calorie monitoring kind of diet that got old sometime last year. ;D As for the stress diet.....something tells me there are little benefits other then weight loss.

Lots of body movement, for example rather walking and cycling than driving by car.
Plus, an occational rather soup that something else. Not too often, though, because a soup generally doesn't contain as many vitamins as fresh things do.

My "diet" consits of eating fruit instead of candy. Not that I need a diet to stay skinny slim...

Alrik, you basically replace just any meal with a bowl of soup, then?
Ube, fruit is probably one of the best diet foods for numerous reasons....but my favorite two are because they contain probably more vitamins then most other foods. And because it keeps your vascular system in check. Fruits tend to clear the passage ways, increasing blood low to the heart. With that happening, you end up with a great deal of energy and do not fatigue as easily....which is great to perform a game of basketball or work a long day at the factory at optimum level. I think I need more fruit in my diet....

Well I don't really diet, but I have been getting a lot more exercise and it's working! Plus I used to always eat ice cream for a snack in the afternoon, and I found that ever since I started sucking on a peppermint candy in the afternoon I no longer get hungry and need to eat a snack. I've heard from some other people too that peppermint candy can help curb your appetite. I'm not saying you should just suck on peppermint candy all day. Obviously I still eat, but I realized for me stopping eating ice cream helped. That helped along with more exercise. Just remember to still eat all of your main meals and don't worry if you have to eat snacks every now and then. Some people the peppermint candy thing doesn't work for, all people can do is try.
I get the star brites peppermint candy cause they don't contain as much sugar as others

I've also heard that sucking on certain candies will distract you from needing a meal. My only problem with that is a lot of the time I need the protein or energy that the snack or meal would give me.
Maybe they should make a multivitamin candy. ;D

I don't do diet, on the contrary... But a few weeks ago I began to eat probiotics yoghurt and I was surprised of the extent of the beneficial effects that this brings. It makes sense though, as it gives a good helping hand to your digestive and immune system (we depend on the bowel's good bacteria for vegetal cells digestion as well as for the production/absorption of several vitamins, otherwise all this good stuff passes straight). If you're searching for ideas and don't take some already, it might be something you'd win to try. Careful before buying those "to drink" ones though; I found that they can taste disgusting after buying big packs, and this stuff is more expensive than normal yoghurt.
The peppermint trick for hunger it's the first time I hear about; the version I know is with chewing gum. Both seem to be often used by those who try to quit smoking too. ;D IIRC there are multivitamin-added candies for real, though, and without thinking about the meal replacement stuff like Nutrbar or Ensure...

Well, me being 'far east of haggard', I found that the best to control weight is the EH-Diet. {That's 'Eat Half'!}
But seriously, there is only one way to control weight, that's burning more calories than you consume in a day. Whether by exercising/moving more or by eating less is irrelevant, as long as the balance is tipped to the right side.

Yeah, I diet. I don't really change what I eat, but how much I eat. I listen to my stomach and my taste buds.
For main meals, I eat, relaxed not rushed, until I am full. I don't finish everything on my plate if I'm no longer hungry. I'll happily eat junk food, but more often than not, my taste buds prefer something less greasy. For tasty snacks, I listen to my taste buds. If I want fruit, I'll have fruit. If I want chocolate, I'll have a choclate cookie. I'll only have one chocolate cookie. That's enough to enjoy the taste of chocolate.
