What amazes me is that there are only six. I thought there were more. Hulk technically had a 500 issue, but due to the renaming it wasn't a big deal. Including the golden age comics Cap has had a 500. Also Wolverine has had a 200 but again due to a renumbering thing it wasn't a big deal. Though looking at DC I wonder how many titles other than Action and Detective have had a 500. Or get there due to 500 issues.

Yeah, I certainly thought there would be more. Marvel have been going since, what, 1940-something?
Granted 500 issues takes a good few years, but even so...

Interesting stuff, SPS. Marvel's only been in continuous publication since 1963 or so, IIRC. They've been around since the late 30's (when they were Timely), but pretty much all of their ongoing books as we know them go back to the 60's. As for DC, only four titles come to mind offhand that have passed 500: Action Comics, Detective Comics, Batman, and Superman. Maybe Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and JLA might count if you add up the numbers of their numerous series over the decades... not sure on any of them, though. Between all the reboots and relaunches, though, I'm amazed there have been that many books that have hit 500.
