This thread can be used by anyone...heck it may be sticky worthy one day!
Anyways to set the stage for my question I have to say I don't know/follow fashion...I mean my general attire is jeans and a t-shirt...maybe a shortsleeve polo if I am feeling fancy. Plus then I wear my uniform (which makes me dead sexy) to work every day.
So now that you know me I have to ask...what the hell is the deal with girls wearing the 8 inch wide belts right up to the bottom of their cleavage...its looks absolutely...well hysterical is the best thing I can up with
...what are they trying to be batman? Cause if they are hiding a grapple gun in there I completely take back my negative comments.

Interesting. I've never seen that kinda fashion style before. Would you mind posting some pictures to illustrate your example? Thanks!

It may be the modern incarnation of the corset, perhaps... ;D Honestly, I didn't see anything like that these days; it looks more like a style that would revive from the 70s-80s to me. That might well be just a fad and aesthetically appealing for some because of the more curvy silhouette it gives (I wouldn't want to wear a tight rigid one and have to lace my shoes or grab something on the floor too often though). That said... I'm not a fashion conaisseur at all, so that's worth what it's worth. ;D

Belts have a simple function (if not to hold your trousers) - they form the body. A small belt just under the bustline, draws the attention to your chest and away from your hips. Pregant or heavier women are often seen in "baby dolls", romian inspired dressed/longshirts that start flowing just under the braline. A belt worn in jeans will fix your eyes to the hip area. (but also to the belly, so you should be well-toned) A big belt like the mentioned defines the body, it brings out the bust and the hips and makes the belly appear smaller than it is. It only really works for taller women though, cause belts ALSO have the power to make you look short, since they devide your lower from your upper body. Any more questions?

Lol I'm not fond of those you posted either; as for if there are some for which it's not the case, well... It would remain to be seen. ;D

i love wearing belts at a high waist but not the ones posted. i think they're a bit weird they way they buckle i love these sort of 60's nurse belts, i even have a vintage one my gran gave me. but yes like kitty said, they shape your body. personally i prefer to go around looking like i have some shape in my body and not just rolls of flab. in all the womans mags they all say men prefer curves to ironing board shaped women LOL now HERE is the ULTIMATE fashion disaster: SOCKS AND SANDALS *screams in fear*

It more seems to me that the worst fashion disasters happen in the hair category... Plus, those are sometimes not easily corrected at all!!

now HERE is the ULTIMATE fashion disaster: SOCKS AND SANDALS *screams in fear* BAHAHA! I'm completely ashamed because that is a typical "german tourist in holiday" crime xD I always forbid my dad to do that or I won't go with him anywhere. Same for Bermuda shorts and Hawaii shirts... (what are Claw Bangs?) My personal fashiondesaster isn't exactly a special cloth, it is the people wear em... SKINNY jeans, have that name for a reason! "Baby Doll" shirts will ALWAYS make you look pregnant! Men just CAN'T wear pink shirts without looking gay. Fullstop. (not that being gay is something bad.. but looking like it is), stuffing your trousers in your boots, especially when the boots are high heel, will in any way make you look like a professional. Overknees always attract pedos. (I still like them) - Wearing purple will either make you look like a wannabe goth or like someone who can't afford proper clothing. Say NO to ponchos! (if you are a born and raised mexican, you are an exception), Fur is wrong. Enough said. I still could go on like.. forever ;D

OK so I don't know if it is the same in Europe atm but what the hell is with the resurgence of the late 80's/early 90's. It was bad enough the first time do we really need to suffer through it again?

Heh about pink shirts. Here, there're tons of men who wear them. And almost no one connects pink to being gay. Btw, did you all know that blue used to be associated with women and pink was associated with men? That was a long time ago, though... at least 50 years.
