I decided to give Smallville a try (A mere 6 or more years after everyone else ;D). Suddenly in the mood for new TV, and that just came up on the 'what-the-heck-o-meter!'
So there I am, watching as the formula develops (Though I say 'develops' but it's pretty set in stone right from the off, so far) and finding myself pleasantly entertained. Pilot is very good, the rest at least watchable.
I like the re-invention of Lex Luthor, and if Martha is clearly using FAR too much botox, that's kinda forgivable.
But the thing I find myself scratching my head over is: why is everyone obsessed with Lana? Sure she's cute, but so far seems to have a quite average personality and not a lot going for her in the brains department.
Chloe, by contrast, is smart, confident, outgoing and just as cute. Yet everyone ignores her. I'm frankly baffled!
But overall - it's entertaining enough, which is all I really need to not get terminally bored... Yet! ;D

And lest I forget: it has what must be the best soundtrack of any TV show ever. Normally I don't notice the background music, but this stuff is GOOD!
