I've started jogging every morning.
I thought of doing this out of nowhere. Well, I guess it came from one event.
I was running for my life to make it to the showing of Friday the 13th because I was late as hell. And, boy, did I run fast! I was like a dang bullet! Pah pah, feeeeewwwwwww! Thing is, I ran fast, but I didn't run long. I was practically down for the count when I arrived. Luckily I kept up my composure until I sat down (fell down) in the theatre seat.
So I told myself a few days later, "Hey! I'm tired of being in crappy shape! I resolve to get myself into slightly-better-than-crappy shape!" I really just want to get a little endurance; I'm not gonna be runnin any marathons or nuthin.
I was never in really good shape. But ever since my pneumothoraxes, I've been too scared (and busy) to do anything active. I used to play a little soccer for fun and play the trumpet. For the last 2-3 years I've been too scared my lungs would kaboom if I tried again.
So, every morning, I do a bit of jogging on one'a those inside jogging-machine-thingies. I would go outside, but the first day I tried that, the cold air beat the shite out of my feeble lungs in a matter of minutes and they were sore for two days.
Sooooo, I've been trying to get more and more each morning. But I'm taking it slow. Better safe than sorry, cuz if I get another pneumo, I'm not doing ANY exercizing at all for medical reasons.
10 minutes the first day. 15 minutes day two (about 1.5km according to the machine), with a wee sprint at the end to get rid of the extra energy. 15 minutes again day three (again 1.5km) and then a full .25km dash (feel da burn!). Day 4, 15 minutes. Day 5, 20 minutes (today).
Hopefully I'll gain some weight like this!! Need summa muscles!
