Here we go: 1. Jean-Luc Picard- He was the one I got attached to from my youth. More of a diplomat, and less of a ladies man than Kirk. Not usually the type of characters I get attached too but still pretty dang good. 2. Bones McCoy- Sort of the calm down to earth character, that was the skeptic, yet he also kept everybody grounded. Plus he rocks a BeeGee's beard in the Motion picture 3. Q- What can I say about Q? He's exactly how I imagine a god would act, and John DeLancie makes him very likeable. 4. Hikaru Sulu- I just like the character, calm yet a swashbuckler at heart. I prefer George Takei as him rather than the new guy but... 5. Geordi Laforge- He gets on the list because of LaVarr Burton and I've always found the character a bit intriguing. Those are my top 5 what are yours?

This takes some thinking, for me. I'm not a huge Trekkie (Loses me HUGE amounts of Nerd points on all those tests ;D). But...
My top three really have to be the Kirk-Spock-McCoy axis, but the order is tricky...
1. Bones McCoy. Coz he was caring but knew how to be a bastard, too. An essential trait, IMO ;D
2. Captain Kirk. Maverick, ladies' man, strategic thinker... Everything Riker wants to be when he finally grows up but has no hope of ever being. Effortlessly cool. Knew how to cheat when he had to, as well.
3. Spock. Did having no emotions ever seem so interesting as with Spokk?
4. Worff. Best character in Next Gen, to me. Loved the mix of thug and warrior. Just interesting.
5. Jean Luc Picard. Mainly because of the films rather than the shows. I slowly warmed to him, though he always seemed a bit 'standard leader type'. He's a GOOD standard leader type, though, and they're rarer than they should be.

A really hard question, mainly because I like more characters than I can honestly name, but here goes... 1. James T. Kirk: The guy who defined the captain's chair for decades to come. I've always enjoyed the complexity and sheer audacity of Kirk. He believes in the Starfleet ideal, but will happily break all of their rules when it's called for. I believe it was Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer who called Star Trek "Horatio Hornblower in space", and Kirk defined that approach. 2. Spock: Another complex and deeply conflicted character. For all of his veneer of cool Vulcan logic, there's a deep emotional core under the surface. 3. Bones: Just because I think that McCoy is every bit as important as the other three points of the main triangle. I look at Bones as the "viewer identification" figure in some respects... he comments on the future from a very human perspective. And what's not to love about his bickering with Kirk and Spock? ;D 4. Khan Noonien Singh: Easily my favorite villain in the Trekverse. I find I prefer the "Space Seed" portrayal somewhat, much as I loved Wrath of Khan... he was visionary, charismatic, cunning, and absolutely ruthless. To be honest, I hope to see Khan again in the sequel, but who knows? 5. Worf: The archetypal Klingon in every respect. Worf contains a powerful capacity for violence with a strict warrior's code. Also a great tragic hero as well. After Khan, I admit it gets really tricky... I also like Sulu and Scotty from TOS, Picard, Shelby, and Data (especially with the emotion chip) from TNG, Quark and Garak from DS9, and Calhoun from Peter David's New Frontier novels. But it really depends on my mood at the moment.

1. Benjamin Sisco: My favorite character, how his character is portrayed during the dominion wars? Awesome. 2. Data: He's an android... who wants to be human! Can't help but feel bad for the poor misguided chum 3. General Martok: Totally badass Cyclops man 4. Jean Luc Picard: He's my favorite human other than Sisco in the show. Really greatly played. 5. Uhm... do I have to pick a 5?... Hmmm... Either Odo, Dax, or O'brian.

1. Spock 2. Bones 3. Kirk
after that, though....
