Hey everyone, back with my latest shooped picture. ;D This time, what happened was I was trying to make a picture of my character in an interactive story I'm part of. Nocmin the Mage. Problem was, I can't draw worth crap. So I thought, "Hell, I'll just manip a photo!" I went and found the person to play Nocmin, *clicked* the pic, edited and edited, and then it was done! Voila! And here's it before the effects but after the removing of the background, so you can see all the work I did. So that done, people still told me that it needed to look more cartoony. So I tried some layer effects, and these two looked nice. Whadda ya think? I know I had fun. ;D Killerzzz

Looks great to me, Kaz! The opinion of another non-artist, should that matter to you! ;D

Fun. Second one looks best to me. Is the cropping intended for the aesthetics or privacy? ;D
Another thing you could to make a character without drawing do is stick the head on another photo's body (or mix and match several body parts and elements; I did that for a pic for Gal a while ago and it turned out well). There are a ton of stock photos and picture tubes out there, and mages are a popular theme. And then after getting a good mage repeating the cartoon treatment. ;D

Thanks guys! ;D I just realized that I forgot to put in the "before the effects" picture! It's there after the sentence announcing it now. Fun. Second one looks best to me. For both. ;D I prefer to make my own pictures. This way makes it feel more like mine. Oh, not sure if I was unclear but I set up and took that photo myself. None of it is stock. Not bad Kaz, not bad! I like your art! That birthday pic was great! Thanks. And glad you liked it. ;D Killerzzz

I see; good job on the t-shirt, it doesn't look very much like one in the altered pics. I prefer it on the 1st pic, and I think it wouldn't look out of place in the 2nd altered one if left like that. Also, how about trying to make the flame a fireball or a magic ball that has more punch?

Also, how about trying to make the flame a fireball or a magic ball that has more punch? I wanted to originally, but opted not to for a few reasons. ;D - Wasn't sure if I'd be able to colour one. (laziness) - A portable flame that you could place in somebody's hand is the first spell Mage Nocmin shows to the other main character (since his magic is limited in the world he has been transported to :0 ). I may do that one day, and maybe have a more wicked grin to go along with it. Think of this one as "Nice Nocmin" and the possible future one as "Ferocious Nocmin". Killerzzz

Good luck working on Ferocious Nocmin! ;D
