Yes once known as Aly & AJ they are now 78violet and here is their new song. It sure does have a rock sound and the lyrics are quite awesome! I do like this song a lot and I'm sure the more I listen to it that like will turn to love.

Given what the new name is, I'm going for 'temporary insanity' right now, Alrik... ;D

More seriously, though, I suspect it's because they want to make a clean break with their older, more Pop-based sound. They're intending to go full-on Rock, so it makes sense to create a watershed.
