On the 17th of September, Noordin Mohammad Top was shot dead along with a few of his followers. His origins, life, and deathThank goodness, about time they got him! It's a few evil people like him who give Islam a bad name! He cannot have been a true Muslim, a true Muslim is peaceful. I would know, I've lived here for the last 10 consecutive years (and I was also born here). Right now, I'm just praising the Lord that he's gone, and praying that they get the rest of Jemaah Islamiah (JI). They're the "Militant Muslims" who are responsible for all the bombs and acts of terrorism in this country. They comprise a very small percentage of the population (less than 0.01%), and yet it is because of them that people think about "Muslim Terrorists..." May God, The Law, and the Army/Military Police strike them all down! And that would strike a blow for TRUE Islam!

would be the right word, yes, but in Malaysia, those two words are interchangeable. ;D

weird thing for the people of our two nations is their love to hate their fellow neighbours, though in the cases of maid abuse & the pendet dance featured in a Malaysian tourism ad, i'm on the side of Indonesia.
in the 1st case, some Malaysians are closet racists & casual violators of human rights though they may boast that Malaysia is made up of many races & friendly people. as for the second case, there must be a bumbling idiot or two that had messed up the ad & pissed off a nation of people. the Tourism Ministry should've vetted the ad.

Yes, I find this hatred very odd. It's almost funny, whenever there is the slightest dispute between people from both nations (i.e some fishermen happen to be fishing in the same area), the Indonesian newspapers always jump on it, acting as if though Indonesia is preparing for war! Personally, I feel this whole "hatred" issue is ridiculous, and harmful to both sides. Of course, though, like you I am on the side of Indonesia when it comes to maid abuse and the "Pendet Dance Ad case." But overall, I think just about everything else is blown up beyond proportion. I'm not against Noordin because he was Malaysian, but because he was a terrorist leader, bomb-maker, and mass murderer. Sadly I cannot say the same of the majority of my countrymen, ATM there's quite a bit of new anti-Malaysian sentiment flying around due to the fact that Noordin was Malaysian.
