We have four-five people all listing their favourite type of music in Cat's survey as 'Electronic' or 'Electronica' - and no topic?!? This cannot be!
So everyone - what are your favourite Electronic groups? Tell me all about them...

Great idea, Elliot! Hybrid, so named by incorporating DJ's in England, a singer in America, and the Russian Federal Orchestra. Wide Angle is a beautiful album. The musical styles drifted towards more mainstream electronica for Morning Sci-Fi and I Choose Noise, but their talent certainly didn't slip. UNKLE started out as Trip-Hop, working with the Beastie Boys, and moved towards Electronic-Rock. Very powerful songs and some very interesting sounds. They love making music for themselves, not for sales. This said, my brother made a good point: they take themselves a bit too seriously. They also work under the name UNKLESounds which is where they do a lot of their DJ and remix music, rather than album music. Check out Organ Donor for something different. The Crystal Method's music is just so smooth. I love music that's fast and slow at the same time. The Presets, an Australian group that made it big with their latest album, Apocalypso. I fell in love with their song My People, described as Soccer Hooligan Dance music. Unfortunately, I can't stand their first album, Beams. Many Machines on 9 are a small-time group from Sydney that are almost like Punk Techno. Sure it's not hard to make angry music, but this one stands out for me. I love their album Prosthetic BLVD, but I just listened to their new EP on iTunes and it doesn't sound anywhere near as good.

@ HEF -> i agree with your brother on UNKLE, they seem to like to add that audio bit (u know, the one that keeps saying Unkle) on almost every mix/remix they lay their hands on. more an ego thing, if u ask me. that said, i still like the original music produced by Unkle. they're unique in the sense that they're not truly electronic/electronica, rather different. a new kind of rock perhaps? i'll check out the other music u mention. The Future Sound of London is my favourite electronic band. started out doing dance music, FSOL then moved on to all sorts of sounds electronic music can go into. one of their finest works, well at least to me, is The Isness which sounds like psychedelic/progressive rock, nothing electronic at all. that album was made under one of the band's many aliases, Amorphous Androgynous.
