Yes, he did it!Great Britain now has 10 F1 World Champions! Credit to Brawn for their creation of a competitive car and winning their debut season (yes, Brawn also clinched the Constructor's title), and hats off to Button, who despite being know as a "lower-level" driver managed to emerge from this season victorious! This has been a really wild, wacky year, but although the challenge for first place is settled, the season isn't finished yet! There's still the new last race of the season: Abu Dhabi. I'm really looking forward to next year, with all the new teams coming in, and the changes of drivers in the teams.

Nice to hit double figures for Britain! Didn't really expect it, honestly. F1 racing is not something I thought we were all that great at, though I know we've had the odd champion or two in the past. Nicely done Mr Button!

Nicely done Mr Button! You've gotta be joking! I mean, you've been around almost since F1 racing started! Surely you know better: 1958: Mike Hawthorn 1962: Graham Hill 1963: Jim Clark (there's the first British Double) 1965: Jim Clark 1968: Graham Hill 1969: Jackie Stewart (there's the second British Double) 1971: Jackie Stewart 1973 Jackie Stewart 1976: James Hunt 1992: Nigel Mansell 1996: Damon Hill 2008: Lewis Hamilton 2009: Jenson Button (only the 3rd double) Of course, they weren't the very best alone, but that's a really good effort (the best, actually) by one country. The very best alone were Fangio, Prost, and of course Schumacher.

Well, there IS the fact that my knowledge of F1 hovers somewhere around the zero mark... ;D

Very well deserved title! Button finally got to show his talent in a good car. It has been a truly entertaining and exciting F1 season again. Can't wait for the next, although there's still one race to be driven.
And yes, the UK has brought forth a few of the best racing drivers in the world. Never forget Graham Hill's Motor Sport Triple Crown (Monaco GP, Indy 500 and the 24h of Le Mans, he's the only one in the world who won those three most glorious races on the planet).

Well, there IS the fact that my knowledge of F1 hovers somewhere around the zero mark... ;D LOL, that's where Hildor & I step in! Funny, if someone else were running a forum just like this one, and you joined their forum, and they wanted to make you the moderator of just one section, I bet they'd pick humanology. ;D Yes indeed, EK's just a bit too focused on Football to remember/notice Britain's racing achievements.

Just a little test for the Britons here: what has the colour on this car to do with Britain?

Thus very important.

Just a little test for the Britons here: what has the colour on this car to do with Britain? It's the traditional colour of brittish race cars. Even I know that and I don't give a damn about car racing or even cars. Übereil
