Does this board support animated avatars?
(That's how we differentiated functions from members on my WoW-RP-board)

I don't want to see a repeat of that event, that's all.

Does this board support animated avatars? I think some folks have used animated avatars in the past, Glance. So unless somebody knows something that I don't, I don't see where that would be a problem.

I assume you just use an animated GIF as your avatar rather than a JPG or PNG. The browser does the rest.

Yeah, it's probably possible at least by using GIF images if not in another way. For any button, too. I personally prefer a light use of animated GIFs though as it can slow browsers when there's too many in a page and it can be annoyingly distractive (the downside to the advantage, I guess).

Hehe, that's a funny animation there Fille. @ Flix, SC: What event? (I'm guessing it's something I missed due to my long, school-induced absence from CC)

I described it a few posts ago in this thread. The last contest had no winner, despite lots of participation and voting. You can search the last contest and read all about it.

That sucks, doesn't it? All those designs... But hey, at least they can re-put them up for voting now! It's not like they're gone forever. Besides, that one wasn't so much of a contest for everyone to find a new layout for CC, just a "Knight style" challenge from EK to Peter and Ube to come up with a superior color scheme. ;D Remember Flix, in that thread you yourself said that "none of those color schemes were so much better than the current one," or something like that. Let's just hope that this time, all the participants can post their new ones (and if they wish, re-post their previous ones) by the deadline.

Yeah. I'm fine with the way it looks now. Except for the purple links.

I'm certainly not against an improvement... To ease the task to those interested in giving it a shot, here's a template of the board index with the background replaced by a plain color: I can do one for the posts soon if any are interested.

Would it be an idea to make the user layout threads a sticky until the end of the contest? If so, it'll take me but a few second to do with my awesome mod powers

Yeah, Peter, I'd agree that it'd be a good idea to keep the entries current for people to see and vote on. By all means, go with it.

Ok... You got me all confuzzled when looking at the General thread list; I thought I had unstickied stuff by accident without noticing yesterday. ;D The thread about my WIP shouldn't really be up there though, since it isn't an entry... I'll post the template in the contest rule thread and it could be un-stickied. Yep, more entries would be nice. Edit: I don't need to repost the template, it's 5 posts up this one.

I've stickied the threads. We need more entires people I would enter, if I had even the slightest semblance of computer graphical design ability. ;D

I've had thought.
It seems several people are saying that they are 'used to the current one now'. So, there's a good chance that when vote time comes around, there will be a "Keep the current theme" option.
I submit this: IF there is such an option, and it DOES win, the next-highest voted theme should still be put up at least temporarily to see if people 'get use to' that one as well as like it, if you know what I mean.

There will be no 'keep the current scheme' option. FAR too great a chance of people screaming 'fix' or otherwise accusing me of cheating if it wins.
I want this one to be so open and shut people think it's a door! ;D

I want this one to be so open and shut people think it's a door! ;D Which however would still include the option of submitting a variation on the current theme - there is no rule saying any submission must be materially or totally different, right?
