I figure this is even more necessary than the "latest DVD you got" because how many of us actually BUY anime, right?
Most people watch it on TV, and most others just download it. Because it's sooooo expensive!
So, when the astronomical situation comes along, what is the latest anime you got?

And I suppose I'll start it out, because I just found several great deals on anime! Now and Then, Here and There (1 or 2 years ago) Inuyasha Season 1 Inuyasha Season 2 Aeon Flux (series - if we can consider that anime) Afro Samurai (series) Dragonball Z - Trunks/Bardock movies (steelbook edition) Dragonball Z - Super 13/Bojack movies (steelbook edition) All for 10$ each. I mean, holy wow! You know what I did after to see if I was getting a good deal on the Inuyasha stuff? I went on the internet and checked how much the other seasons were selling. Answer: 80$ each. WHAT?!? That means the price I paid for all that crap above was STILL less than a SINGLE season of Inuyasha on DVD (and there are, what, like, 8?). Those steelbooks are usually something like 30-50(?)$. The other stuff, I dunno. But I'm happy. Very. ^(smilie face) Killerzzz

the latest i got is Hayao Miyazaki's latest - Ponyo On A Cliff By The Sea. a mouthful, i know. ;D sadly the copy i bought wasn't original but it's somehow licensed. i smell corruption. honestly, it's really really hard to actually find & buy original anime dvd's in Malaysia especially in the east.

Hellsing Ultimate.
The animation quality and dialogue blows the original version out of the water. The scene with Alucard vs. Luke Valentine was already legendary in my mind, and now it was really done justice. Plus, they kept most if not all of the same voice actors from the original series.
The new plot also follows the manga, unlike the first Hellsing, which deviated halfway through. I actually like the non-manga plot, which pitted Alucard against a mysterious vampire from the East who was trying to summon a demon-god. The new plot has Nazis as the main villains....Nazis!

do u read the manga, Flix? it's mind blowing! i love almost all of Hellsing Ultimate except for the soundtrack. i feel the original OST is much much better as it's very distinctive & also adds to the mood of the series as well as sets the tone to the scenes.

Actually, for an avid anime fan I read little to no manga at all. The only exception is Berserk, for which the anime ended after only one season, and I must know what happens!
Agreed on the original Hellsing soundtrack. I also liked the way police girl was drawn in the original. Also, there were no scenes in the original where characters over-reacted to things in that highly comical and exaggerated style (I forget what it's called - but it looks silly and cartoonish) that takes away from the more serious tone of the new version.
