Ah, good. Ever since the end of FF8, I knew it was a matter of when, and not if, Spoony would finally do a review of this game. I must admit, I'm so far parting ways with Spoony on this game, though I grant him some points. As a game, FF10 always struck me as much better than FF8, for reasons even Spoony admits... the combat system is much better, there aren't any stupid required minigames, no annoying busywork like drawing magic, and the opposition is generally more balanced. I think he's right on some things thus far, though... Tidus is indeed an irritating character, though I don't hate him quite as much as Spoony seems to. He's also definitely an idiot, and that really does not improve in this game. And yeah, blitzball doesn't really make much sense either, but I can kind of overlook this one. Although I really hate playing that game, but at least it's not a requirement and not extremely aggravating like Triple Triad was. All the same, though, I can't help but like this game even with its flaws. It has a lot of charm, I actually liked these characters for the most part, the actual gameplay is enjoyable, and it feels like a grand epic storyline even if the execution falls short at times. All the same, this is definitely a game that's easy to get some good comedy from. Seymour alone has a lot of laugh potential. Spoony hasn't even hit the ridiculous plot holes in this story yet... some of which I was even making fun of as I was playing it. It should be fun to see what he comes up with when he gets there. Oh, yeah, and I enjoyed FF9, but maybe that's just me.

More padded than a Bendis comic, but funny when he gets on topic. I think I'll go look for that FF8 review...

Yeah, I don't think you'd go wrong with that one. The FF8 review is probably Spoony's longest work, and has some of his most classic stuff. I'd say the first five parts and the big finale are probably the most worth watching, so I'd focus on those. After that, he noticeably starts losing steam until the big finale. You probably could give the FF1 April Fool's episode a miss, for instance, and not feel like you lost much. But all in all, I'd say it's a good idea to watch it, if only because it gives some more context to the FF10 review. I find that Spoony is usually worth watching most of the time, but it really depends on what he's working with to some extent. I'd say FF8, the Warrior review, a few of the SWAT 4 videos, and the Phantasmagoria 2 Let's Play are probably among his best scripted stuff. That said, some of his vlogs (which are more improvised) can be quite funny as well... his New Moon review and the recent TNA Impact rant are both worth watching, even though I have zero interest in what he's reviewing in both cases. Like a lot of reviewers on That Guy With The Glasses, Spoony really does his best work with either really bad material or material that's "so bad it's good"... and those aren't that easy to come by.
