Which Film is Better: suggestion thread

I want to do this Which Film is Better thing in "Seasons" of four WFiB then a break of a few weeks.

But so we don't have a failure like the Rocky/Rambo thread I need suggestions. My film knowledge is wide but I don't have a perfect knowledge of films. So this is a suggestion for future threads. Here are some that I am mulling over for the future:

Pixar (saving for around the time Toy Story 3 comes out)
Films are rascist (another summer one, which will have Crash vs. Do the Right Thing)
Shaky cam (Cloverfield vs. Blair Witch)

Those are some thoughts for the future Suggest ones that we could do.

Oh and on a side note I am considering doing a big and special one which will get lots of conversation going, and that is a march madness bracket where a bunch of films will enter and one will emerge victorious as the film that the board thinks is the best. This is going to be a huge undertaking and will probably be started this summer.

You could try slight variations, too. Like best action hero, best film martial artist, etc. That enables you to pit whichever actor/esses you want in head to head battles. Or change it up a bit, like best actor in an action film (Rare occurrence, I know! ;D).

Best Western would likely get Steve & myself, at least! ;D

Okay with western you would have to suggest films for me. I know only a few of the bigger westerns like High Noon, Tombstone, and the Wild Bunch

Of the ones you listed, SPS, Pixar is the only one I feel qualified to vote on. Didn't see either Crash or Do The Right Thing, and while I'm familiar with Blair Witch, I missed out on Cloverfield.

The March Madness one sounds like a cool idea to me, though. I'd be down for that.

On Westerns... yeah, there's a good chance El and I would be in on that, though I dunno about anyone else. ;D For suggestions... that'd be a long discussion, knowing us.

Some actor-oriented ones can be interesting, though it really depends on who you're using. I imagine a Schwarzenegger contest could be cool. IIRC, Elliot and I have watched a fair number of Arnold films, and maybe others as well for all I know.

As a fun idea, you could do a "which film is worse" thread, where we compare really bad films. But there again, that depends on what enough of us have seen, and I can't give you a good guess on that. I mean, I'd vote on Plan 9 From Outer Space vs. Manos: The Hands of Fate, but I doubt that anyone else would.

Seasons 3 will be the Summer Spectacular, where we have brackets lined up. I will take nominations for films (probably 32 films) probably around the time I start the Pixar thread. I don't know how that will work yet.

Which Film is Better Summer Spectacular!!!

32 fan picked films enter but which one is truly the best film? We will decide! I expect lots of heated discussion and tons of fun!

If you guys want to PM eight films each to me before hand you are welcome to. I want the movies to remain a suprise, and if we end up with some duplicates no worries. I will randomly take some from the various top whatevers we have done in the past year or so.

I will allow suggestions after the move but lets set a date of May 22nd at 7PM eastern to get them in. This gives you guys 2 and a half weeks to get your top eight choices in. The first round will tentatively start on May 24th.

This will be reposted on the new boards also, so don't worry.
