Ok so I just started enjoying the wonder that is the Wii Virtual console. If you have your Wii connected to the all knowing all powerful interwebz you can download and play NES, SNES, and N64 games. Its not free, big surprise I know. To play the games you have to purchase a classic controller, 20USD at gamestop. The games sell online for $5-10 each which isn't cheap but...meh. The games download onto the console's internal memory or I believe onto an SD card. Anyway, I was mentioning Ogre Battle, and Ogre Battle 64 to someone and both are available for download. Anyway lots of fun, its been a looooong time since I have played contra.

I've seen this. My friend's roommate had them all (he somehow pirated them onto his Wii I think). We sat up one drunken night while I played through all 4 of the original Sonic the Hedgehog titles in a speed run. Of course, I'd had practice since I have all those games emulated on my PC as well.
