Fallacy 1) We alone of the animal kingdom are afraid of death.

This is not true. Many members of the animal kingdom are afraid of death, however their nursing instinct is greater and so they will fight to the death for their children.

Fallacy 2) Being afraid of death/injury uniquely makes us controllable.

This doesn't make us any more controllable than our desire for rewards, company, etc. it's just an easier/faster way to get control.
