Ladies and gentlemen...
It has been a good five years, here at ProBoards. Up to now, they have been the perfect hosts and offered us a truly wonderful service. In honesty, we could not have asked for better.
So it is in sadness rather than anger that I must announce that after a thorough review of the new ProBoards terms of service, it is time for Chaos to move to a new provider.
The fact is, there are a number of terms with which Steve, Fille and I simply cannot agree.
The unlimited granting of use of copyrighted materials would not matter so much if we were only a discussion site, but many members of our community post here things that are our own intellectual property and that we would wish to remain so. For ProBoards to claim unlimited use simply because we choose to post on their forums is not a thing we can accept - not just for ourselves, but on your behalf, also. Too many of you are talented artists, writers, photographers and poets. Your work is yours and yours alone. We do not make any claims upon it, and we do not feel that ProBoards should either.
Moreover, the rule that allows them to ban anyone using ad blockers may make perfect sense from their POV, but when members are forced to disable their ad blockers every time they visit Chaos, the site becomes just that bit less accessible. Worse by far, there are boardies who visit us from work or college where they have no control over the security measures and for them to be banned by ProBoards for a thing over which they have no say is, in our opinion, unjust.
Therefore, we are currently seeking a new host for what will be the second iteration of The Chaos Cascade.
As soon as we have a vaguely viable site, you will be informed of its location and allowed to transfer over anything you wish from this site to the new one.
Think of this not as an ending, but rather as a new beginning

As an addendum:
When we complete the move, the entirety of the Creative Chaos section will be deleted, as will the Your Photos section of the Art & Lit forum. The link to the chat room will also be removed, as I see no point to leaving it up on an abandoned forum. This site will then be placed in Maintenance mode, meaning that anyone will be able to view it, but no-one will be able to join or post. As such, it will serve as an archive of the first five years of Chaos.
