I'd just say that at least a part of us can still be seen at the Larian forums. This just as a notice, if someone gets lost.

We're close, if slightly behind schedule. I suspect we may have a winner, on grounds none of us hate it, yet! Will keep you all posted. *** Alrik - Lynn has very kindly agreed to let me post about the move, so Larian will be informed, yes

I totally support Kane and Company's decision to NOT agree w/ the new TOS.
As someone who writes short stories and poetry - well, nowhere like he used to - in his spare time, I would not be a happy camper if I actually posted all kinds of creative works and suddenly ProBoards has all the rights in the world to do what they want w/ it w/out my consent. And I don't think artists who freely post their creative works want to be involved w/ such a new TOS that basically allows such matters, either.
So, keep me posted on the move and all of that jazz.

The process so far goes something like this:
Steve, Fille or I: "What do you think of insert-host-here?"
Fille, Steve or myself: choose one (Or sometimes several) of: * ToS does not allow hotlinking (IE the Art & Lit forum here on Chaos). * Has limited posts per day, the number of which it can change any time it likes. * Pop up ads randomly occur throughout every post (A personal favourite! ;D) * ToS is so poorly written as to be incomprehensible * ToS reserves the right to ban or unban forum members at will with the forum runner getting no say. * Forums are filled with spam (Oh what fun THAT would be!)
I could continue this list for a while, but you get the idea. Suffice to say that the process of finding a new host is by no means as easy as we had hoped. But we ARE on it.

As a short note : I'll not be able to be online tomorrow, Sunday. But I've seen the new address already. I'll might check things out, otherwise I'm still in the Lrian's Forum.

We're not at a day close yet, Alrik, so it's no problem. The new place has a lot of new features so there's a little bit of a learning curve, but it looks quite flexible and fun. Here is the link to the new home of Chaos: chaoscascade.yuku.com/directoryThe way that Yuku works is a little particular, so there are some things to learn about how an account works there. About Yuku accounts: support.yuku.com/topic/8201 When you post and interact on Yuku, you do so via one (or more if you feel so inclined) Profile, which is the equivalent of a subscription entity in regards of the different communities there. (Because there are a ton... And I'm sure that if you dig around their directory you'll happen on forums from sites you know or heard about.) About Profiles, what they are and the differences: support.yuku.com/topic/6847 Looking forward to see you all over there!

Can I suggest that you keep the general forum writable by all, but change the posting restrictions to the other forums to something that can't be written to, so that if pro-boards ever introduces a "we will delete inactive boards" policy we can occasionally post to keep this board active.

Not any more, DPR. Can't get it to lock without also making it inaccessible. Too high a price.
One other thing I could try, but it's very time consuming. So for now, it stays as is.

I think it ain't bad that it stays the way it is for a while. Some people might drop in much later.
