While I remember, I guess I'd better clear up this whole 'why people get banned' thing, just to stop people worrying needlessly.
Making jokes won't ever get you banned, and neither will making genuine mistakes. If I'm gonna ban people for either of those things, I may as well shut the board now - and start by banning myself, coz sure as heck I do enough of both!
The rules thread is pinned at the top of the General Forum, and that's about all we're ever likely to need - or at least I hope so! Follow those rules, and you will never have any problems here. They're pretty hard to break by accident, as I hope you will agree
Overall, I prefer not to ban people at all. It's disruptive to the board, and counter-productive to the main goal of making this forum into a genuine community.
But there is one thing more than any other that can undercut the atmosphere here, hurt the boardies and damage Chaos as a whole: that thing is genuine malice.
Sure, some people here will not really get on, for whatever reason. Gather any large group of people and it'll be the same. All those different personalities are just never going to meet in total harmony.
But not really getting on with someone is no reason not to respect their right to be here. If you really don't like someone, just ignore them. It's not hard. PMs can be blocked and posts ignored. No one will force you to take part in any forum activity that you do not wish to, or to interact with people you are not fond of.
What is not tolerable is to start some kind of vendetta against other boardies, or against the board itself. That is malice. And malice will get you banned.

Sorry for the depressing subject guys & gals, but I think it needed saying about now. I really don't want people worrying over nothing
