Btw... is it just me or do the people in this game remind me of modern society? I'm sure we've all seen our fair share of folks who tried to rip you off, ignored you, baited you and so on? Did you go in expecting fluffy medieval princes and gentle, honest commoners?

I'm still in Act 1: does anyone know where to get some Vermillon as I want to make some of those ceinfried oil? Also, are you able to enter the city at this point?

In act one you can't get into the city. For most of the ingredients, get herb lore or whatever it's called. There are tons of flowers for picking that have all kinds of useful properties.

Ah all right. Crud... it looks like I gotta reload. I was suddenly whacked with some #@$#@$ salamander takeover of the inn and then, later on... just as I was confronting the beast... I realised I'd forgotten to upgrade my skills and to also finish that "retrieve friend's body from cave" quest. What a pain!

Awesomeness! Thanks, D Pretty big file, but this one's definitely worth it! Yeah, The Witcher: Price of Neutrality is a pretty good new adventure. I've enjoyed what I've played quite a bit, to say the least. Most people will complain there's no voice acting for this new adventure, but this add-on is free -- what the heck do people want for free, you know? The writing and story is very good I might add, too.

Yeah, I always figure 'free' covers a lot of ground, personally. Voice acting or not, more Witcher can only be good, IMO.

Yeah, I always figure 'free' covers a lot of ground, personally. Agreed. Absolutely agreed. I can't wait for Module #2, myself.

Me neither. Really liking this one, so far. It's a kind of 'spot the worst' and that may take some doing... ;D

Well, that was really rather good. Working my way carefully through 'who's the lying bastard' vrs 'who's the proud and willful noble' was definitely fun. More like that would make me very happy

More like that would make me very happy This is what I really like about The Witcher -- that the obvious "good" choice might actually result in worse consequences than what looks to be the "evil" path, b/c of other things that will happen. It's not like cookbook, like some other games using good vs. evil -- where the obvious choice is the obvious expected result. Witcher has more of a "each decision results in some sort of consequence," regardless of if you take what might look to be the good path or the evil path. From what I know and read on Witcher's official forums, there's 4 different endings in Witcher: Price of Neutrality.

Yeah, I think more than with any other game I've seen I get a real sense that whenever you make a decision in the Witcher that decision really, truly matters. It's gonna affect the world, the way you interact with the world and it's certainly going to have an affect on the way the game ends. It even determines quite often who lives or dies.
That in itself is great, but take away the moral certainties of most RPGs and you have a truly awesome game. It's not about protecting the Fairytale Princess like a good Knight should, but rather working out whether the Princess is a lesser or greater evil than the people you would be protecting her from... Gotta love that - it feels so real.
It's that that makes it truly an adult RPG. And I love it. I just hope other companies take note.

I agree w/ this whole-heartedly. Especially since your decision you made doesn't really show its effects til like numerous hours later into the game. So, there goes your replay value right the heck up, b/c it'll pretty much force gamers to replay likely from scratch and not start from a save somewhere say near the end of the game. I agree w/ you 100%.

Yeah, there's just no telling when a good decision will suddenly benefit you and a bad one haunt you. Love that, too - it's also just like life Too many games just rack up everything at the end and you see nothing until then.

I have a question on The Witcher: Exactly how predefined is Gerhalt? How much choice do you have in what you do during the course of the game?

Übereil AbilitiesFor his sword skills, there are different formations for skills -- such as fast, strong, and group. Under these 3 styles, there's a bunch of skills you can learns. There's four styles of magic, as well. All styles have their own magic skills you can upgrade. ChoicesBut, most quests have more than one or two ways they can be finished, usually resulting in a different outcomes depending if you take what is the "Good", "neutral" or "evil" path. And each decision, usually has some sort of consequence for making that decision -- which often ain't seen until some many hours later into the game. Sure, there's also some of your usual linear quests -- get X amount of this, kill X amount of that, etc etc.

Yeah, it's been known since around 6-18-2008 that Witcher: Enhanced will be released worldwide for 1st half of September for a while. I didn't think it was really worth mentioning when that news broke b/c there's no exact single-date itself pinned down.... EDIT: I already had a thread going just for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, BTW...
