Manga is Japanes comics. Alot of the comics are turned into Japanese cartoons called Anime. Manga drawing has its own style and is quite different from US comic book art.
Some of Adele's art is done in the manga style. "My Turn Daddy" is one of those pieces. Large eyes, sharp chin, and the nose is usally sharp and slightly turned up, etc.

I too think the colors in the drow picture are happy ones... Maybe is it the Drow version of flashy. ;D Fragile; Sali makes me think of a puppy by the posture he has... the ears half-way up, the mouth, the hair... cute. ;D riverman! It's great to see you here. I think that her coloring is made with watercolor and then some graphic program, Photoshop or Painter... But Mobbie knows probably much better. ;D I think that the thing that really helped me to catch the difference between manga style and the rest was to relate it to the styles of pictures in animation programs where their eyes shake when they're about to cry... That and the Final Fantasy games.

@ Riverman- Well, those pics sure are something else aren't they? Hmm, what medium? Most are done like this- (so far by hand)sketch- shading- watercolor- (now computerprograms kicks in..) Photoshop. But the really GOOOODIE GOOD ones are made with Photoshop AND Painter... Because Adele doesn't find either one of them sufficent to make the pictures perfect... Nice to see you around here by the way, welcome back, any time Mangas are quite funny, most of the time. But every now and then you can find (surprisingly) mangas that aren't just 'funny' but also has a great story to them.. I did read a manga once, believe it or not, a HORROR manga... That was so weird, but the storyline was so good that it actually worked

@ Mobbie - "Ephemeral Throne (I don't know what ephemeral is, explain please)" Ephemeral \ih-FEM-er-ul\, adjective: 1. Beginning and ending in a day; existing only, or no longer than, a day; as, an ephemeral flower. 2. Short-lived; existing or continuing for a short time only.

Here comes some pics, sorry to make you wait Luke's descent into madness, the darkness pawing at him, whispering in his ear, marking and corrupting him until even the title of Prince cannot save him. Another twisted rp scene that has nothing to do with the books. ^_^ Torment (or Corruption.. But I think Adele calls it Torment The cover for my fantasy book 'The Rover's Cripple', the first in The Wars of Avenan series. Painting this maxed my patience to the extreme. Over a month of planning, two weeks of painting, the biggest project I have yet attempted. (Same as the books name) The Rover's Cripple A painting of Ty's adorable lemur character Relic playing with the flitts in her own secret place. ^__^ Worked on this off and on for a week. Starting to get the hang of painting water, I think. Relic's Secret A revamped version of an older pic. Falen submitting himself to the power of the Rover. The final illustration for the first book in my fantasy series, to be published in 2005. ^__^ Chosen This took possibly the longest of any commission to color, mostly because of all the leaves. But it's done! Two of Ashleigh's characters marveling at the wonders of my infamous music-loving glowy butterflies. XD Butterfly Dance Little Faeren and filly Manea, in the junior version of the 'Standing Guard Over Master' pic. ^__^ Took a while to finally finish coloring this, thanks to my troublesome computer. When I was a kid, we had a squat apple orchard just like this, with old trees whose branches started so low you could practically walk right into them. I miss that place.. Apple Orchard Captive, drowning Prince Luke, sinking to the bottom of a sea littered with the remnants of a lost battlefield. A dream-sequence from 'The Golden Prince', one of the books in my fantasy series. Sinking 5 more then I'm happy for the moment Yes, Adele is being violent again...extremely so. Never thought I'd actually finish this thing, heh. Watercolor was a good medium, it gave the pic a certain rough, intense atmosphere. Jenny did the greyscale shading! It should be apparent what just happened, but if not, the vidaug jumped down on Faeren and shoved him into the other guy. *wince* Vidaug Attack ...That's not really what's he's screaming, btw. Heheh, them little Silenes can't be all that vicious, eh Morgan? Eh? Eh?? ...Ya know, it takes an awful lot to make him scream like that...Not to mention draw it. Or color it! Min did an awesome job in bringing this drawing to life! Sit and stare and marvel at the awesomeness that is Min's coloring!! Whaahaahaa Mommy!!! I do hope that this picture is not considered 'to nude' ... Because, it's a really great pictureRp scene. Luke cuddling with Kelly's character Diana (Dee-ahna), who likes to play with his hair. ^__^ Painting took about 20 hrs. Luke ©me Diana ©Kelly My Comfort Manea standing watch over a napping Faeren. (I personally think he fell off..) ^_^ Standing Guard Over Master Whooooooooooooooooooosh! Heheh, mystery solved. S'what happens when one has a surprise close encounter with a couple jet engines. ^_^ Durn planes...I hate flying. How Fenwyn Lost His Clothes.. There, that's 5.... I hope you enjoyed ALL of them though, since it took me some time to find them ;D

Good posts. And thanks for including her comments about the pictures, it's great. I don't think My Comfort is too delicate to be posted here. I find it great, too. Other than this one, my favs from these you just posted are Sinking and Whaahaahaa Mommy!!! It's true that the coloring of it is awesome, I love that style. (Haha, see a pattern in colors here? ;D ) I think you had posted Waahaahaa Mommy!!! in the first batch already, eh? But it's OK, and very cool to have the description that go with it now. With these three I'd add the pair Apple Orchard and Standing Guard Over Master; the paintings are good and I love the parallel between the two. I like The Rover's Cripple too, but not very much the way she did the lianas on top... Butterfly Dance is cute and very well done. I like Torment as well, in the way it is composed and how it represents the descent into madness. Hmmm, that's what stands out the most for me. The others are good as well, but don't talk to me as much. What about you?

...My favorites are Whaahaahaa Mommy!!! (that's why i posted it with THIS description, even though i had posted it ealier...) Torment, partly because I love Luke, partly because I like the way the blood, and the black (poison?) goo is painted on Luke.. also the wound on his left shoulder. And also, partly because I love the concept, how he descendes into madness, and how one of the 'ghosts' hands him a knife... And last but not least, Sinking. ...You might have noticed a strange pattern here, I love Happy poems, with love and joy. BUT I love the dark paintings, the ones that are evil, the ones that are chaotic. Or, simply, the ones where I can see people suffer... (...I'm definitely weird..) Whaahaahaa Mommy!!! is the top on the list, I love the expressions (I kind of think that the tears seem to have scarred their faces, correct me if im wrong, but it does not look like normal tears...)

Hey, ss, it's good to see you in these parts. Wow, that topic brings so much people by... Mobbie; Bah, one doesn't exclude the other, light poems but dark pictures. Me, I'm drawn to any, as long as they reach fair... The tears of the character to the right in Waahaahaa Mommy!!! do indeed look like scars... or are they? Those of the one to the left, less though.

Great new pics mobbie. I think Adele must do alot of manga style paintings. I see manga in alot of these. They are really great though. Thanks mobbie for posting the titles and the info along with them. Yea, you went to alot of work, but to us it means alot and we thank you. Out of these last ones My Comfort, Sinking, Torment, Whaahaahaa Mommy, Butterfly Dance, and Apple Orchard. I think I have listed these in the order that I like them. Well, the order I like them at the moment. I reserve the right to change my mind. ;D I love the colors and the feeling you get from My Comfort. Sinking and Whaahaahaa Mommy have great color. I really love the contrast in the colors in Sinking where the light is shining through the water. The daggers are interesting and so is what could be a skeleton. It is all very well done. As for the tears in Whaahaahaa Mommy I have to agree with Fille. They do look a little like scars. Wonder if the tears are suppose to be leaving scars?

As always, I'm glad you both liked the pictures! The tears in Whaahaahaa Mommy!!! - Yes, Lukes tears seems to leave less scars than the womans tears (d'oh, I don't know who the woman is...) But I think they are a bit similar anyway, and I love the idea to paint tears in that manner, it's unique (imo) Riverman- No problem, ask, and you will be answered ;D Shan- ....Do you by any chance love Luke? All your favorites are Luke's pictures The 4 first in your 'fav-order'. I'm quite amazed that my thread got this much .... Views/replies I really enjoy it though, I guess I'll have to keep posting more of Adele's work then... Shan again- My mother will give me money soon, and then I'll instantly order the first book of Adele's work
