Wow Shan, yet another great find! I not so found of the darker creatures, allthough the art on itself looks really well done. My favorites are "Dark is the Moon" and "Annah" I love the colors in the Moon picture, the warm red and the magick that comes from it. Annah is so bright and light done that she almost looks like an elf. Is it a selfportrait? I went to visit her website and I loved it! Nice work Annah Hutchings!

I found some I really loved watching.
'Red shadows of the clouds'
Painting the clouds With Ribbons Said she: "I ache. The void is like death, The Sky is red And to think I loved you."

Are you hinting about them leaning towards the darker side instead of light and playful? ;D You seem suprized... Übereil

Wow, Mobbie, likes my pics. Yay, me. ;D Glad you liked them Mobbie. You were one of the first people I thought of when I saw her work. Dark is the Moon is one of my least favorites though. You could have moved it down further in your list, you know? ;D

I love the background in this one. She seems to be able to add so much detail to her backgrounds just flooding them with atomsphere. The colors she chose make the painting. Wrong Kind of Darkness"The Great Beings wept For the Great Beings knew That nothing would ever be right in the land Til the Birds returned home....."

The Wall and the End of the WorldIf you have the time, please go read the story behind this painting. It is a very touching story and it is almost as if the story and the painting are one. I Am the Key and I Am the Door

I love the sword and her hair in this one. Again the colors she has chosen seem to match the mood of the painting perfetly. Maybe a silent prayer or just remiiniscing before going into battle. The Promice"....if you are killed by that you love, surely death is just another step in all that you believed in....."

These are other nice paintings... I'm not so fond of Annah, but the rest is very good. I don't like the girl's eyes in Unshadows though, which is sad considering the rest of that painting... and I agree that the horse in Spectres in the Fog is great. Lost, I like a lot; great atmosphere and settings, and ditto for the composition. This one remains me of the two male paintings by Linda Bergkvist in similar wooden settings (the two have a difficult name); the face's feel seems to fit better, too. Maybe she does better with male faces than female's... ? Red Shadows of the Clouds is great too. I like how every element in it echoes to the rest in shapes and colors, and how she disposed them all; the girl's face and eyes are better, too. Ditto for Wrong Kind of Darkness, safe maybe for the girl's eyes. The Wall and the End of the World, if it was not with the story I would not be very fond of it; the story is nice, though, and the colors and atmosphere in the painting fit the situation that the fairy gets in great. The Promise is nice; the girl in it seems in a weird disposition to me, though, considering that it's a sword that she's holding, the environmen't she's in, the theme that the artist seemed to want to illustrate, etc.; she even looks kind of relax, lost in her thoughts... But what I like of this one is the colors, the soft details the artist put everywhere in it, in the background and the girl's garments.

The new ones- I like 'The promice' (promise?) a lot, she looks like she's up to something, or just have been up to something ;D

i think i like Lost best as most of Annah's art don't seem to evoke any feeling from me. in the case of Lost, everything seems right - the character, the posture, the background (the best part of that art), the soft lighting as well as the right blur on everything.
however i feel something's not right with the sword where its end points at the ground. it doesn't seem to blend well with the root at the foreground. also the crows at the bottom left. they seem to be placed there so that spot won't feel so empty.
note: this has nothing to do with the fact that i do watch the series Lost. ;D

I will admit her faces have been a little disappointing to me, but over all I love her paintings.

Jags you surprised me just a little. If I had had to guess which one of Annah's paintings you would have liked, I would not have picked Lost. I think I would have guessed the one Ky really liked or The Promise. I'm glad you found something out of her artwork that you liked though.

I agree Fille. Without the story behind it, the The Wall and the End of the World would not appeal to me very much either. I do think she represented the story very well with her painting though. The story almost makes me cry. One thing that bothers me about the painting is the way her legs are done. I keep looking for the other foot. For some reason I think the painting would have been better if she had shown it.
Red Shadows of the Clouds really does nothing for me. I think it is the colors in it that turn me off. I do love the scarf bird that is lunging down with its mouth open though. Again I just wish it had been a different color.

I think this one is my favorite of all of her work that I have seen. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I was drawn to it the moment I saw it. I love the colors it is done it. I love the background. I love the way she has enclosed the body in an egg shape. I love the webs. OK, ok, I love everything about it. ;D My Immortal"They told her to guard the stars lest they fall...... But she only had eyes for her memories.... And they consumed her....."

I like this one very much also. The detail to the shirt is great. I love the way she has done the blood hand and the little animal is a cutie. Memories of Blood
