Mao
The whiskey is in a slightly bigger bottle, but any of the three bottles could easily fit in your hand. They are designed to hold a single dose of a magical potion. Think roughly the size of a small perfume bottle.
Silk is definitely not a common material in the world you remember. It has to be imported at great expense as there are no native silk worms in the (Rather European) climate of your home. It is not just nice to wear, but is used to filter a lot of chemicals in alchemy to strain out impurities.

Leim look at her very disappointingly as she mentions the two biggest weirdoes in the place could teach him how to use mana. ”But Stelrein is a bastred and Sin-Drip can barely remember where he is!” he folded his arms frowning at the thought of being those two idiots pupils.
“Why does everything have be so damn annoying.” he stomped his foot and close his eyes.
He open his eyes when he heard Mao move and looked over at her going threw the chest. “Its just silk its common threw out the empire.” he nodded a bit as he talked.
“Its one of the reasons our lands are under attack a lot is cause outsiders want a part of our silk trade.” he said as he start to head across the hall to check the other chest out. “All the fuss over something that comes out of a bugs ass.”

"Of course," Mao answers to Loriana, handing her the spell case containing the two scrolls. "You might want to gather the scrolls in it too, once everyone is done with it. When the others will have learned the spells, I'd like to learn them too; I'll keep on searching and checking things here but when everyone will be busy I'd love to take some time to do it, though."
"Hmmm, yeah, I know; it is certainly what make us tougher though," Mao answers, shrugging her shoulders. Pleasant or not, all they can ever do is coping with things, she thinks.
"Wow, here, it's quite a luxury, in any case," Mao answers. "And it's a great filter in alchemy too," she adds with a smile, puting the silk shirt beside the bottles on the bed.
As she's about to get back to the chest's content, she sees Homm and Cedric entering the room.
"You speak strangely; did you bite your tongue when you fell earlier?" she asks him suspiciously, and pays great attention to his reaction. "Ash seems alone to open the other doors; I think she could use some help and backup... ?" she suggests. "I'm almost done here and I think I'll join you after if everyone is ok." Perhaps it would be her chance to observe him better and find what is so disturbing with him since he fell unconscious... plus, perhaps Ash with her bubbling ways could be some kind of catalyst to shake him, she hopes.
"Hey, enjoy yourself," Mao tells him, showing in the room. "There's ink and a quill pen on the desk there, with plenty of hard-to-decipher writings. On the shelves, it's books on primary magic, and we just found two more spell scrolls in a case in that chest; Lor said she'd pass them around to learn." (Elliot, is there blank paper on the desk too? If so, Mao tells it too to Cedric). She also tells him about the bottles on the bed and to take care not to break them should he want to sdit on the bed.
While she talks to them, Mao examinates the socks in the chest to see if they contain something or are special in anyway. (Elliot?)

Mao
There is certain to be blank paper, yes.
There appears to be nothing special about the socks.

Cedric is thrilled to hear that more spells have been found - the expectation that there will be spells available to him reassures him.
When Mao tells him about the blank paper and the quill and ink, he immediately searches the desk to find all those. He picks up all the blank pages he finds, inspects the ink, finding it a little on the thick side but good enough. He takes quill, paper and ink and writes down the healing spell from his memory. It gives him a sense of satisfaction of being able to do this.
He then goes through the books. The basic concepts he finds while glancing through them appear familiar to him.
{Elliot anything additional?}

Cedric
The books are all primers, suitable for junior mages only. They might occasionally spark memories, but you are sure your own knowledge is far above the level in these books.

(Elliot, you wrote "three odd and not very clean socks"; what are they odd in? And can Mao determinate what makes/made them dirty, what they could have been used for?)

Ash gets tired of checking the second door on the left. She walks back up to Mao and says "I think the second door on the left is free of traps. You can try opening it if you want or check it out some more. I'm going to check the door across from it for traps." She then goes to the door she mentioned and begins to check it for traps.

Leim grumble at Mao comment. ”I know I know it builds character working with idiots.” he walk past Cedric and snorted as he enter the room across the hall.
He saw that most everyone was wondering around and he didn’t see why they needs all these half-wits under foot. “Why don’t you just all trample the little guy he just kid who going care if we step on him.”
He shrugged and he knee by the new chest checking if it was lock. If it wasn’t lock he opens it and if it is lock he goes about picking the lock and opening it.

Mao
The socks are 'odd' in that they don't match with each other, not 'odd' as in 'weird'. You'd guess they are not very clean because they have been worn but not washed.
Ash
There seem to be no traps on the door.
Leim
The chest opens easily.

Leim smiled as he popped open the chest and smiled. ”Mao-san I got another chest open! Hurry before the buzzers start circling it like it fresh meat!” Leim opens the lid and started pawning threw it.
Leim hum happily as he search the chest feeling good that he could do something the others couldn’t do. That fact alone was making this a tad more bearable than waiting in that hall with that big blue monster.

Loriana smiles happily when Mao hands her the scroll case. She quickly takes the scrolls out and takes the time to memorize them.
After she does, she looks around to see who she should give them to next. She sees Cedric at the desk writing something. She goes up to him and waits until he is finished writing.
"Cedric, here are the two new spells. After you are done, can you please see that they get passed onto the next person?" she hands him the scrolls and then the case, "And the scrolls should get collected in here to keep them safe. Hopefully we will find more, and hopefully they will all fit in here."
She hears Ash come in and say the next room is ready to be opened. Loriana turns to Mao, "May I open the next door, or should I wait for someone else to?" Loriana was getting excited at the prospects of getting outfitted properly, not only with clothes, but spells! Maybe they'd find weapons soon. While she'd love a bow, the first bow would of course go to Ash.

"Ash said it's safe, so no problem, go ahead," Mao tells Lor.
What's the point to put dirty socks in a locked chest, Mao thinks smelling the sock she holds slightly, expecting a smelly feet odor, considering the owner of this room etheir weird or distracted. She puts the socks beside the chest and checks what's left in it - the sweets bag. She examinates and smells them to see if they're special in any way (Elliot?) and puts the bag beside the chest with the socks. She then investigates the interior of the chest to see if there's no double bottom or anything hidden, and checks under the chest in case there would be something there. (Elliot?)

"No traps," thinks Ash. "That gives them another door to open." She then turns and goes back to Mao. "Mao, the room on the right side is not trapped either as far as I can tell. Someone can open it or they can check it out further."
She then turns and walks down to the corridor to the next door.

".... he .... issss not .... ready to .... accompany .... me" says him to Mao, ".... bessst .... i .... sssstart first .... ." he bows & retreats to the door & when he is outside at the corridor he proceeds to the rooms Ash & Lor have opened to see if he can find anything hidden.

Leim
The chest opens easily to reveal three items: a scroll neatly tied with a ribbon, a small jewelry box, and what looks like a dagger that has been wrapped very carefully in velvet. You can't see the dagger itself, only the shape of it. The three items look to have been very carefully placed to be easily accessible.
Mao
You find no hidden compartments in the chest, and nothing under it. The sweets appear to be a single sticky mass. They appear to be nothing special.
Homm
You find nothing concealed in either room. If you intend to check the furniture too, please be more specific in your descriptions of what you are checking - and for what.

When Leim passes Cedric, snorting, he decides to ignore him - the young kow-all-better will learn soon enough, he figures.
Loriana passes him the two scrolls, which he proceeds to copy immediately, memorising them in the process. Again it is evident to him, that he once knew these spells to be basic.
{Elliot - in reference to 'heat' blast versus 'fire' blast - to Cedric, due to his albino condition, that would make a considerable difference - 'fire' meaning bright light when cast he would rather not use, or at least differently, than 'heat', if (!) heat is meant by you to be something other than fire - is it?}
After having finished with foiling through the books in this room, finding nothing of interest, he steps up to Rasidar and hands him the two scrolls, mentioning that he made copies that he will pass to Stelrein. (which he then does, all 3 of them)

Leim eyes narrow at the items as his hand ran across the velvet the dagger was wrapped he stopped himself from opening it and instead went to the scroll and picking it up and un tie the ribbon. He made sure to hold on to the ribbon not letting it fall as he read the scroll. “Its probly just another spell I can’t learn..”

When she's done with checking the chest, Mao decides to go and see where Ash is at and help her. She decides to leave the bottles and the silk shirt there to avoid breaking them and being encumbered and heads to the corridor, taking off her bola to provide Ash with better lighting.
Along the way in the corridor, she opens the two doors next to those they explored, if nobody did already, to signal the others that they're ready to be searched. Provided nothing happens when she opens the doors, she only glances quickly to have an idea of what there is behind (Elliot?) and goes to Ash.

Cedric
'Heat Blast' will raise the temperature considerably without actually creating a flame. It might still set light to paper or straw etc, but that would be a side effect rather than a direct result of the spell. Anything that does create an actual flame will be 'Fire-something'.
Leim
The scroll is written in the same odd language as the other scrolls you could not read.
