Because putting them all in the same place seems to make sense. Either that, or I'm getting lazy in my old age ;D
Art styles & content on these vary a LOT, but I tend to at least try to stay up with them all. I've mentioned a few before, but some are new...
Inverloch is undoubtedly one of the most beautifully drawn comics on the web. It's better than most of the stuff you can buy, in terms of both art and story. And updates often
Zap! I can almost understand Phil's fascination with Manga, looking at this. The hero is a moron, but the story is by turns funny and compelling. And the art is Manga, but not the kind that makes my eyes bleed.
Earthsong has to be the other contender for best drawn comic on the web. Gorgeous, but the story is a little slow paced and takes time to get into. Worth persevering with, however.
The Noob is a hilarious piss take on MMORPGs. Even someone like me who's never played them will find this very funny. One of my favourites.
The Order Of The Stick is a stick figure cartoon, though that doesn't really do justice to the art, which is more complex than the form strictly allows. Anyone who ever enjoyed playing fantasy RPGs should love this. A recommendation by a friend.
Groovy Ass Alien Creatures is about a truly incompetent group of alien invaders and the kids who are Earth's last line of defence. Think Mars Attacks rather than Independence Day. Great art, too.
A Stranger In Paradise is one of the most unique, imaginative and compelling web comics I've found. Art and story are both superb. I can't really say more without saying too much. Just read it already
WTF Comics is partly satire & partly drama set in the world of Everquest. A friend of mine showed me this one, and I've been addicted ever since. My friends tend to have great taste in web comics, I find
Goblins is a comic about, well, goblins! If you ever wanted to know what it's like to be the subject of endless brutal raids by adventurers, this is the comic for you. Fun in places, but gory in others, and not suitable for very young readers.
Ravenwood is a fairly standard fantasy adventure, but the hero is old, rather tired, and not exactly Mr Popular... A good twist on old themes.
The Duellist Massive galactic empire where the main entertainment is provided by highly paid and very dangerous people - the duellists. There is a lot more to it than that, but that's the basics. The story is interesting, and gains greater depth the more you read.
Tomb Of The King. The quest for the lost tomb of an ancient king is only the start of the problems for the cast... Set in a semi-medieval world, the story has many twists.
Lovarian Adventures is one of my personal favourites, but SO slow to update! It's basically a fantasy adventure story with very likeable characters and a well constructed world. The art is very good.
Angels 2200 is most definitely NOT suitable for younger readers. It's a space age version of 'Y The last Man' but with no men inn it. After a major plague wiped out most of the men, the crumbling Terran empire must be held together by the women alone. The story is about a group of rookie fighter pilots. The art starts out very cartoony, but improves massively over time. It's the characters you'll be reading it for, though. They are very good indeed.
